šŸ€ NCAA Men's Tournament Round of 32: Midwest Region #3 Virginia vs #6 Tennessee, Sunday, 22 March 2026, 1810, TNT

I’m assuming it will be fairly empty with UConn in the late game buying up most of the tickets

With the elevation and the hands way above his head, I always thought more along the lines of Richard Morgan. But Staples is a good comp, too.

It kinda hit me this morning that today could very well be the end of this season. Man it had its up and downs but this was a fun first season and much needed after last year.

Just want to see us fight.

Tons of UVA fans in Philly so far. Haven’t seen any Vols.

Will is an ass, his predictions almost never pan out, was the loudest voice saying we would be upset in the first round (before knowing our seed or opponent), and generally hates UVA; he’s not smart.

Watching some of these other games of 3 seeds or better has really driven something home for me: we aren’t good. In fact, we suck really bad. We will lose today and mercifully this strappado of a season will be over.

Can’t tell if this is tongue in cheek or your legit belief. I need to know so I can respond appropriately.

so strappado numeroso would be more appropriate if a single one is only 1 hour long

Tonight’s result will tell you all you need to know on this subject.

my entire career field was destroyed by a billionaire for purely ideological reasons, millions dead from USAID dismantling, on the brink of world war 3, gutting of landmark climate legislation, collapse of checks and balances, extrajudicial killings in the street with no accountability.

basketball has been good though

As an aside, my god, Nate Burleson is one charismatic SOB. I had him on a fantasy team way back when and he totally fucked me, but damn if I can’t help but forgive the man, the charming MFer.

My eyes hurt from how badly that website needs an editor.

I’m grading 9th grade English papers, and taking a break to read some ā€œprofessionalā€ writing was not a respite.

Griff boiling down tournament coaching to a sentence:

With so little time to prepare for the game, Aldrich said the coaching staff has to make sure not to overload the players with information about Tennessee.

ā€œA huge part of coaching is figuring out, when you have a foundation and you have base principles, are you better off just doing what we do and doing it well, or are you better off tinkering and adjusting constantly?ā€ Aldrich said. ā€œAnd so there’s a real balance between the two. Do just keep it simple and go with what got you 30 wins, or do you want to adjust and make changes? And so that’s certainly something we’ve thought a lot about.ā€

I think that approach is successful and also needed with a bunch of 1 year rentals. Its why Tony struggled (overloading brand new players in their limited time at UVA and having schemes that required years of chemistry together).

Can lead to some static play at times but I think that’s the right approach at least for this season

I will be very happy if I don’t have to yell at the tv every 30 seconds over a boneheaded turnover. I can predict every single one.
