I don’t think Vol Nation is going to turn out huge numbers today. There isn’t a lot of belief in this Tennessee team like there were the last two seasons. If they win today, they might come out of the woodwork for the next round tho.

Iowa state and Michigan will dominate all the tickets in the Chicago

I think it really ALL depends on tonight’s game. Win and advance to the Sweet 16 and the season has been a big success. But a loss… Sure, big improvement over the last couple of years, but it would still feel like the program fell short of expectations. It would be $14M spent on 30 mostly hollow wins. No championships, only one win vs a top 25 team (at Louisville without Brown) Not a lot to show for $14M.

That said, I think the HOOS win BIG tonight and we can firmly say it’s been a great year.

Go HOOS!

366 days ago, we were in the basketball wilderness. Today, we have direction. This season has been a resounding success

I don’t care about the $14 million price tag on this roster. It wasn’t my money and it would’ve been spent on much stupider shit than a basketball roster if we didn’t live in the current NIL landscape.

Marketing expense!

We’re a 30 win team that came in a resounding 2nd place in the ACC in year 1 with a new coach. That is a significantly more compelling pitch to recruits than we had a year ago. It’s been a tremendous success.

After we win today it will be an even bigger one! (I am not confident in this)

Loser mentality. We watch to have fun. Who can be mad at 30 wins, 2 ACCT wins, and a March madness win in year one? Imagine how prepared this team will be next year led by Chance, Sam, and Johann.

No matter what happens tn I’ll remember this team forever. Awesome group

We really don’t recruit anymore. We buy players. We can literally get players to be Wahoos without ever setting foot on campus (or grounds, lol)

You keep being so insistent on this point, but there are limits to money in the new system, and there are a lot of players making decisions between teams when the money is equal.

The best players name their price and choose between suitors. If we want to be competitive for the top tier of player, our traditional recruiting pitch needs to be strong too. We’re considerably more competitive in that regard than we were a year ago.

The 25% overpay or whatever it was for all of our players seems like a pretty reasonable investment imo, especially since its not my money. And I’d be shocked if the people who actually gave the money were upset with it, and they’re who really matter.

I just want the game to start already, my Tennessee hate reserves are filling at an alarming rate and need an outlet.

Not a loser mentality at all and it’s all subjective.

There really are no limits to the new system. I think a lot of programs are just laughing their ass off at the CSC.

Honestly, I just think we’re better than Tennessee.

lol what a terrible take on an incredible first season under Ryan Odom. It’s remarkable that anyone can feel this way, and that it all teeters on what happens in this one game tonight!

30 wins bro. I don’t care how they came, it’s 30 wins. We’ve done that 6 times. Ever.

Did the last 5 times come with any sort of Championship?

One of these things is not like the others.
