Their offense doesn’t have bells and whistles, but they get their best guy in position to do best guy things, and then they get room to put a lot of good defenders on the court as a result. Not a bad plan.
They’re also awesome in transition off of turnovers.
Man you said way better than me. Like they try 4 attacking things that dont work the … voila… high low pass for dunk (or missed fade away layup)
Beautiful offense is great, but sometimes to get beautiful offense you have to put not so good defensive players on the court (hi Dan Hurley when you don’t have Clingan)
FYI - UConn-OU has the Raftery-Eagle-Hill combo on it and they are having fun.
Ha Nate Bittle for Oregon has quite the middle-aged dad look with receding hairline + bald spot + pseudo-mullet.
As for the actual game, Liberty getting out-athleted so far.
Bryant dude bleeding down his face like a pro wrestler.
Earl Timberlake is still in college? Feel like that dude has been around forever.
Man another weird one- John Hugley IV. Goes from averaging 14ppg at Pitt 3 years ago to 3ppg and minimal role at Xavier.
Ritchie McKay and Biberty are not having a fun time in the 1st half against Oregon.
Me watching Oregon barely use Kwame Evans Jr as their guards continue chucking (and hitting) in a blowout leading to further angst and want to move back east
Also LMAO Evan Miya loves him and has him as a top 3 6th man and their 41st overall player LOL. Dude gets like 3 touches a game but the analytics are about it.
I feel like Fears should wear the number 13.
Whew, for a few minutes there, I was worried we were about to live in a world where genius coach Danny Hurley had lost a first round game to average coach Porter Moser. Luckily for everyone’s priors, we’ve managed to avoid living in that unthinkable hellscape.
hurley’s genius, and i think you could say this of his Dad as well, is being such a complete asshole that you cross the line from “jerk” to “svengali”. So rather than turning people off, you actually get people to embrace your corrosive and grating personality and do whatever they want you to…it’s genius in it’s own way in that once you get people to accept that you being an asshole is a good thing, you can pretty much do whatever you want, which then further proves your genius. Now, I should say that Hurley is just a novice wannabee Coach K in this regard, K was the king of fooling people into believing that being an a-hole is a positive character trait.
During halftime of one of the games last night, Barkley was talking about his last college game — a loss to Richmond. He shouted out Tarrant and Newman, and said Bill Five kicked his ass.
But the ultimate Chuck moment. He said the guy he hated most was the PG, No. 10 — still hates him to this day. That was Greg Beckwith, who had a heart attack and died last year.
I have been to couple summer league games in Jersey City that dad Coach Hurley was coaching. He was and is actually low key hilarious with his antics. And yes his players were scared to death of him
Purdue all over McNeese St so far. McNeese just can’t do anything on offense against them.
This NCAA tourney kinda sucks.
Baylor beating Duke tomorrow will heal this nation though
