My reasons to cheer for UConn
- Underdog
- Itās funny that the Big Ten hasnāt won a title in like 25 years and that should continue
- Donāt want a team where none of the starters began their career at the school winning the title
- They beat Duke

I read an article about this not being the first time they ran a promo like this (also ran something similar for the Red Sox winning the 2007 WS). The article also said that he bought insurance, so heās covered (as opposed to Mattress Mack/Gallery Furniture in Houston who self insures via large gambling bets to hedge).

Very interested to see what happens with UConn (and BC) next year.
Nothing about Hurleyās head coaching record before he hired Murray screamed āgreat coachā. Good, not great, with some very average seasons thrown in. Now heās on the verge of a 3rd title in 4 years, and it started when he added Murray.
If UConn drops off, and BC becomes even a middle of the pack ACC team, would make you say hmmm.

He turned Rhode Island around. I donāt think his UConn success is due to an assistant if only because I canāt see his ego allowing an assistant to exert that much influence.

Interesting - we used fake shots (passes) off the backboard in high school all the time when our big men were frontedā¦ actually stole it from Celtics tape we watched - Bird and McHale used to do it all the timeā¦
We even had a side out of bounds play with the pass off the backboard to a guy cutting off a back screen to the basket.

I watched that game. Mary Wash had a 10 point lead with just over 2 minutes to go, Emory came back and ties it on a 3 with 10 seconds left, before Mary Wash won it on a buzzer tip-in. Virginia D3 schools have done well lately.

I think if Yaxel is mostly-healthy, UConn is in for a bad time because of how they match-up with Michiganās giant starting lineup. If heās not, things get interesting. I think UConnās best bet is to go for a David strategy and sling some 3s.
