And ISU fans (ok, fans on Reddit) mostly trashed the Otz hire at that time.
I have a belief that coach hires outside of the obvious are more dart-throwing than a search firm would want you think, at least when it comes to predicting performance. Hiring for cultural fit is a different story.

dunno. he has been successful. so he has leverage. so maybe he negotiated a smaller buyout. doesn’t seem completely out of the realm of possibility.

That’s a good fit. He should be able to get the athletes needed for his system there.
Think Louks is probably still the favorite there though.

Seems that way. Byington’s buyout feels like the wildcard.
And that’s fine. Think we aren’t as high on him because we know he wants the job. Always want what you can’t have and take for granted what you do have.

Odom wont be the sexy hire, but I do think he wants to be here and is a good coach. Not a slam dunk, but I think he can make us a solidly good program year in and year out. Not sure elite though, but he has time to grow and get better
