Who AI thinks Calhoun is

Good news: Shaka will be our coach

Bad news: JPJ will apparently be in someone’s driveway?

Aside from the creepy ass AI pictures, watching Utah State play the other night put me on the Calhoun train along with Odom.

The Under Armour logo is a nice touch.

Yeah Indiana, you think you have the leverage to make demands to the reigning NBA executive of the year coming off an NBA championship making 10-15 mil a year with the team still favored to win the championship again. To go back to college coaching? A man who was so vocally happy to give up recruiting 12 years ago would come back to what college basketball is now? And you gave him a deadline to answer in February?

I think people here talking about Rick Carlisle as a plausible target are smoking something. IU fans talking seriously about Brad Stevens must be smoking non-stop 24/7.

Pearl is quite happy where he is at. He has zero interest in leaving for IU.

No. I would welcome the father to UVA with open arms if it were up to me. Dude is a coaching legend.

Hard pass on Richard. He’s found his calling at New Mexico clubbing baby seals.

The difference is that those are programs that are going to recruit at a higher level than UVA. Generally speaking, UVA isn’t going to be signing a lot of Top 25 type players. UVA is going to be signing Top 50 to 150. UVA has found their niche, and I think they have a good staff in place maximize the potential of the program.

Nothing that slimeball does will ever surprise me, and I don’t believe anyone is that happy on the Plains.

Speaking for myself, I want UVA to win & I think Ron is the best choice going forward.

Depends on what you mean by historically.

Lamp, Sampson, Polynice, Sheehey, Cory A, Burrough, Courtney A, Dersch, Mapp, Watson were all ~top 25 guys.

The 1983, 1991, and 1999 classes were loaded.

He is really happy, & he’s not a slimeball. He’s made mistakes in life, like everyone else, but he’s a pretty good dude.

Pearl is the type of person that would be really happy anywhere though. He loves life & loves a good time.

You just backed up my point. You named 10 guys. …Like I said, generally speaking, you aren’t going to be signing Top 25 type guys at UVA.

Who would get you excited for the next chapeter of UVA hoops?

I have a slightly different view of this. I wonder if Stevens has kinda given a “dunno, maybe, can you wait until June?” answer in the past, rather than just say “No”.

So, this might be IU’s way of trying to placate everyone without mucking with their more likely options in the thick of the carousel.

Titus almost never sticks his neck out and he kinda did that the IU-Steven’s smoke was kinda real… (last time I mean)

Villanova and Syracuse do not perennially sign top 25 players. Villanova has five 5-stars in the history of recruiting rankings, Syracuse has four. Ohio State hasn’t signed a top 25 guy since 2010, and their last 5-star was in 2014. (All per 24/7)

As @lodger96 said, there was a time we could recruit with these guys. I don’t think that time should necessarily be behind us. The right guy could definitely land an Efton Reid or Nate Ament here and there.

Yeah I’m with you, I think this is their way of saying they tried. Doubt anyone is taking it super seriously.

My problem with Richard Pitino is more his .360 winning % in the Big 10 over an 8 year period, followed by 23-30 over 3 years in the Mountain West going into this season.
