Only 15th? Thatās the upset of the day right there
Itās pure sentimentality. A defense that is predicated on forcing outside shots, and ānever let a great big beat youā , I feel is out of place in an environment that prefers the 3 pointer, and doesnāt have a bunch of great bigs.
Youāre welcome
Itās going to be interesting, win or lose today, how people are going to respond about Coach Sanchez. Five years as a head coach is too small of a sample size. But, given the context of UNC Charlotteās 5 losing seasons before he became head coach, he made a significant improvement in turning around the program. Iām sure there are plenty of coaches who did great in their first 5 years but then turned out to be not so good and vice versa. But, then thereās Scott Drew (and tons of others) who started out like this: Scott Drew took over as head coach at Baylor University in 2003, inheriting a program mired in scandal and facing severe sanctions. His first five seasons were marked by rebuilding efforts:
- 2003ā04: 8ā21
- 2004ā05: 9ā19
- 2005ā06: 4ā13 (restricted to conference games due to sanctions)
- 2006ā07: 15ā16
- 2007ā08: 21ā11 (NCAA Tournament appearance)
Which is missed shots and which is turnovers? And do we throw missed defensive assignments in there for a triple double?
Vandy looks legit. Up 16 at Knoxville in late first half. Not sure Byington is really attainable. Not sure why he would leave that situation. He can own Nashville.
Ok, fine. But I donāt want any of you pipsqueaks resting. We still have a lot of work to do here.
Where did we land on Kihei? We should or should not declare other peoples criteria on Ron arbitrary? Whoās doing the deep dive on Hussās defense (any poster could do offense - push yourselves). Whatās the 2025 version of plane tracking? Hacking google searches?
We could hire Ron, and it could work out great. But Jeff Goldblum said it best:
Down 6 to St Joes
Carolina is definitely going to hire the Vandy guy, right?
If the Vandy Guy means prior Vandy head coach Jerry Stackhouse, they absolutely should.
Yeah, sucked. Iād planned and being there, and wanted to see the game, but had a funeral in Northern VA that afternoon. My wifeās cousin passed away in her mid-50s, but she was always super enthusiastic and energetic, and wanted it to be colorful and fun. Might have been more upbeat than howād Iād have felt watching that game in person.
Oh, yeah. It wouldnāt look good in years 2 and 3, but thatās a price Iād pay for that sheer magnitude of ridiculousness.
Can someone pass the salt?
Sanchezās Basilisk.
Thatās exactly what I plan to do!
Somehow Mason came back and won by 1
If you eat crow now, you may need to regurgitate it at the end of the gameā¦Iād hold off.
But also we didnāt recruit the replacement for Jerome at all, until, to a lesser degree Andrew Rohde.
