Hercy was at Louisville for a little but is now at Southern Utah. Mercy is a freshman at Houston; not a contributor yet but was a 4-star recruit.

When I was looking up VCU’s performance since Feb 1, Clemson popped up as the number 2 team in the country. I was shocked.
My hottest take is that Brownell is an Ian Scheifflin merchant in the same way Hurley was a Clingan merchant. He’s a replacement level coach and only reason he’s done well the last two seasons is Scheifflin.

Did he get better as a coach in the past 5 years? Seemed like he was on the hot seat for like a decade straight. He missed the NCAA tournament 6 years in a row between his 1st and 8th seasons. That’s something most P5 coaches don’t survive.

I think I have a hard time respecting Brownell much because Tony went 16-4 against Clemson in his tenure, and I have never once feared them. He’s objectively done pretty well recently, but my opinion of him just feels set.
