Yeah. But Ty and Guy were non negotiable for me. So it was basically Brogdon vs Harris. I’d lean Brogdon there especially for his defense.

ā€œI shot a basketball this evening for the first time in several years… I have some apologies to make… it’s really hard! Did they move the regulation hoop up or something?ā€

Hell yes. I discovered that 20 years ago in an embarrassing display of ineptitude. They’ve done similar things with the manufacture of golf balls. Not fair!

3 absolute legends who did it their own way. I’ve always loved Ol’ Roy & Jay.

If I’m not mistaken, Tony has referenced a few times that the first call he got after UMBC was from Jay Wright.

May be an interesting study in 10 years to see how many lives were ruined, and how many lives were helped by the wild wild West.

Ima give coach Alford a pass here but the idea that workers should not receive a share of the value derived from their highly skilled labor is crazy.

The idea that athletes receive no value with a full ride for 4 years with no bills is crazy….
Literally a 50-100k value every year in school.
And the connections for career after? Immeasurable - ask Fresh how much that helped after college.

Forget me. Ask real students who work 2-3 jobs to pay their way through college.

Alfords point is learning the value of money. And further that dudes after college that arent pros cause no one is are in for big surprise

Furthermore, millionaire coaches dont make millions until very late in their working lives, relatively

And how many work the whole time and never make anywhere close to it.

This job sucks so much right now.

The big thing is full team free agency every year, it’s totally unsustainable

Yessir. Coaches now do 1000 things that has nothing to do with coaching

A full ride academic scholarship would be the equivalent of what you’re proposing if they had a skill that got them to college and then just maintained that skill privately. However the skill that the players bring to the table are in turn being used for financial gain by the University, Television stations etc. So that’s above and beyond the equivalent of a full academic scholarship in my opinion.

Sounds of violin and piano and drums permeate the air this morning in last run throughs before we travel to NC Fine Arts Competition this weekend…. Music to my ears…. Had to go from being just a sports dad to a music dad - steep learning curve!!!

Bahaha, our good buddies at the AFP managed to draw the ire of the Dean of the School of Medicine with their…reporting approach. The SOM folks needed to consult LRA users on how to read (or not read) AFP.

I saw the statement from the dean and my eyes near popped out of my head when I read ā€œAugusta Free Pressā€ in the first line.

(Didn’t know which OT thread this would belong in, so sorry in advance, Dave and Haney!)
