Boiling down coaching to in game and recruiting strips TB of his most valuable skills as a coach: culture and leadership. You don’t build a program with recruits and timeouts, you build it with the soft skills. TB is off the charts in that category.

That’s not to say talent isn’t important, but talented players come here because of Bennett more often than not. He wants talent but he wants it with people who fit his culture

Don’t disagree Joe … that stuff is big.

!00% Culture is EVERYTHING in my opinion. It can take on many different forms, but all great teams or even championship teams have great culture and everyone is bought in.

My motto as a coach has always been give me a team full of guys who are all bought in and like each other over a team of talented mercenaries any day. I can mold that team with culture into a championship contender. Or at least make some great memories along the way.

Weird that Gardner hasn’t announced yet???

It wouldn’t shock me to see him test the waters. That might be the reason he’s not putting together one of those long, rambling IG posts that ultimately says he’s coming back.

I doubt he gets much legit interest, or even a G-league camp invite, but it wouldn’t hurt him to get some feedback and get the official NBA eval.

He should test the waters. There’s no downside to doing workouts and getting feedback. I doubt he gets much interest unless he transforms into Chuck Hayes or better yet Charles Barkley overnight.

I don’t ever wanna hear Tony say again - we’ll have a smaller roster so more will play to avoid transfers…. Just never wanna hear it again . Like never… if you’re gonna say it … then you gotta do it.

I definitely jumped to some wrong conclusions based on that article. I will read this season’s off-season Jeff White article a bit more cynically.

Had the same thought this morning. Here we are again, a transfers that really never got a shot to improve on the court. Shocked Taine is sticking around to be honest

Carson has that ability to go right at the defender kinda chest to chest like he did at UNC before the youknowhat. Not easy to do and gotta be quick with it

Best our offense looked all year lol

Here and when Reece!! tips a pass away and is off to the races
