Buchanan has played way more basketball than Dunn has the last 3 years ā¦ like a ton more. My hope is he will be in the rotation from Day 1 because if not - no one will know.
p.s. - Letās tune in at 10 pm tonight and see how he does???

Dunn said when chatting with @Marktykobe last year that he had never played a full season prior to last year at Perkiomen. Blake has played more hoops, though Dunn had the advantage at playing at a fairly high level at Perk (playing guys like Lively and other D-1 guys).

Pretty sure Mamadi red-shirted. And he was awfully raw. Great athleticism, but skills needed a lot of polish. Averaged about 3 points and 3 rebounds in 14 minutes as a freshman. If thatās your hope for Buchanan, thatās a low bar.
Personally, I think weāll get more from him, just because weāll need him more and so heāll have more opportunity. But there will be plenty of growing pains.

Think itās a pretty high bar actually lol much more likely Blakeās contributions are closer to Taineās this past year than Dunnās. A Dunn-esque freshman season would be amazing for Blake. Iād be thrilled if heās able to achieve what Mamadi and Ryan did as freshmen

Mamadi didnāt get his first start until his RS Junior season and wasnāt a full time starter until his last year.

I set a few hard and fast rules for my girls when they were little, one of which is: when you go to college (or whatever equivalent ends up happening), youāre breaking up with anyone youāre seeing at the time. I donāt care if theyāre the love of your life, youāre 18. Itās the same reason you couldnāt get a Dora the Explorer tattoo when you were 7.
Related, you need to have multiple serious relationships before you marry anyone because you need the breadth of life experience before you have any clue what you really want. Breaking up with the HS BF is the only way thatās going to happen.
If youāre meant to be together, youāll stay in touch and get back together later (happened with my parents and with my wife and I, more or less). Iām fine with that, but you need to play the field in the interim.

Yup I tell my daughter all the time she can date wear makeup get ears pierced when sheās 35.
Also 100% agree with @ElliottHoo of itās meant it will work out but that real world experience ia invaluable. Especially when youāre from a small (read Charlottesville size or smaller town)

I have two daughters, now 34 and 32. All serious boyfriends (one is now son-in-law and another is fiancƩ) got this talk in private.

Myth. Married my first serious relationship. Still the one 20 years later. Same for my sister and brother. Still married 33 and 24 years later.
Basically true for my parents - been married for 58 years.
Iām so thankful they gave such good advice and wisdom.

I dunno, I recall a decent number of late shot-clock Kihei heaves. And Brogdon didnāt really take THAT many more 3s than Kihei. Their career totals were almost exactly the same (504 vs 507) though Kihei did it in 161 games vs Brogs 136.
Obviously, the rest of their games were really different, but their effectiveness as 3 point shooters was really similar.
