Thatās probably a little too much groupthink for this time of year. Iād expect to see more projections like SI.com, which included teams like Virginia, San Diego State, Baylor and Iowa. Those four donāt appear on anyone elseās Top 25. That kind of variety of thought is needed.
Also Tugler is hurt and will miss the summer. Another reason to short Houston IMO.
I know summer session 2 starts June 15th. But wish the team could have moved in earlier to get a head start, especially since other programs are already running full practices
I think programs have 8 total weeks to use over the summer (at least in the docs I could find), so it just means they will end earlier/give breaks at different times of the summer.
Usually each schoolās compliance staff. Self-reporting violations used to mean slaps on the wrist whereas hiding them meant more trouble. But in this era of NCAA non-enforcement, who knows?
I would think youād want to frontload these if possible-- give them stuff to work on on their own for the rest of the summer afterward/get to know each other maybe? Iām sure there are different schools of thought to it though.
Given the competing factors of class schedules and international competition, I wouldnāt think 2 weeks difference over 5 months is gonna make much difference. Especially since there is a cap of total time
Is his claim that the NCAA is engaging in anti-competitive behavior by creating and enforcing the 4 year eligibility rule?
Oh yeah, if the DoJ is saying pay attention to the student part of student athlete, theyāre siding against Zeigler here. I have some thoughts on why theyāre doing this, but Iāll pass on making political commentary here.
Iām pretty sure Alston or another case said that the NCAA still had the ability to set eligibility rules, but I canāt find it at the moment. Iām pretty sure the NCAA should win this one though.
Final roster for future opponent Maryland. Didnāt realize they landed Darius Adams, the 5 star guard we quickly offered but never really recruited (thought he was UConn bound).
