If I had to bet, wouldn’t they go to Ralph Sampson’s American Taproom?

I dunno, I guess Zinburger was kind of casually fancy, if that makes sense. Like, would closing a HS junior at like Ivy Inn really be a good idea? You want them to be impressed, but its just as important that they’re comfortable.

A super nice meal will impress, but also might have the kid be uncomfortably scratching at the tie their parents are forcing them to wear while trying not to spill the sauce on their dress shirt and trying to figure out which spoon to use. Sort of the opposite of comfortable.

Zinburger was a place that was JUST nice enough to count as “nice”, it was really a wine bar so the mom could have a nice glass of something while pretending not to oogle CTB, and the kid gets CTB’s closing pitch at a nice restaurant while having a burger, milkshake and fries. I get how it worked.

El Puerto should have been the closer from day 1. Cheap mexican food never fails.

Yeah, Ralph’s is my assumed replacement spot, in part because its Ralph’s and in part because its literally in the space Zinburger used to be. Unfortunately, I’d say that while Ralph’s probably counts as nice (its approximately as nice as Zinburger, maybe a tiny step down), the food is honestly underwhelming. Its not bad or anything, its just… fine, while Zinburger’s food was actually good.

Not fancy but Al Carbon. Best rotisserie chicken I ever had. To die for plaintains also. Like I said, not fancy but great food - in my opinion.

Sedona Tap House, yeah that place is actually really good. And somehow always crowded yet oddly hard to remember where it is.

Burton’s is a great call. Its not quite what Zinburger used to be, but it might be the closest. My kids loved it from day 1 and I’m still a fan.

Radio Silence from TJ Power’s camp. Duke and UNC mods have been trying to get info/interview but nothing so far 3 days removed from the back to back one day visits. Seems like he truly is in decision mode right now.

They also have a restaurant next door that is the exact same but is filled with model trains

Sedona yes! Always go there pregame and Burtons post game. Jay Willy introduced me to Burtons. But really think cause of his wife ha

Maybe Zinburger would have stayed open if Tony just offered more players :upside_down_face: (for the record, I actually like the fewer offers…but still)

OscarR knows, Al Carbon is great!

Exact reasoning for me that we have as good of a chance as anyone…. That’s because no one knows what the hell is going on really. Everyone seems to think it’s down the UNC and Duke(based off nothing), but neither has any evidence one way or another. Because it’s all made up.
