OFFER WATCH: Post Live Period/Pre Fall Recruiting Thread

Btw, this seemed very positive, IMO. He seemed to like the visit. No mention of being stuck in traffic. And if he doesn’t go to UVa he might be a Johnny and go play for Coach Shoes. This is the first time I’ve heard of Coach Shoes and he’s already my favorite non UVa assistant.

Lol, shows how little attention I paid, good catch. Just saw Reece (!!) at the top and figured it was reasonable

It’s gonna get real and fast if or when TJ doesn’t select UVA based on the likelihood of Green going to Xavier. I’m hoping he does since the staff has made him the priority recruit however I won’t lose sleep if he goes elsewhere.

Will be interesting just to see the impending complete meltdown here as many will no longer disguise their contempt and self-pity (which is essentially already in motion).

I don’t think that will happen. The NCAA has pretty much signaled anything goes now and Miller doesn’t have to hide handing over bags of cash anymore. Besides, even if the NCAA decides to play tough guy, all one has to do is lawyer up and they go run and hide under their desks, see UNCheat academic scandal for an example.

Yes, now it’s fine. But when he did it (“it” being failure to monitor), it was still not fine, and I think he’ll get at least a year. I assume Xavier worked that into their calculations. Anyone who Miller/Xavier are recruiting should, too.

The LWYRUP thing will work prospectively, not retroactively.

Edit - I think the Self self-ban on the recruiting trail is pretty good evidence that those teams/schools know there is still a price (though perhaps not that big) for what happened in the Tugs Bowen era.

Oh in no way do I expect that situation to actually play out lol. Was more just commenting on how much of a slimeball Miller is. I’m sure if anyone was to somehow get caught cheating in the NIL era, it would probably be him though.

Saul Goodman would be the right type of lawyer for Miller…

Wonder if the Traudt’s ever met Gene Takovic at the Cinnabon in Omaha?

This is easy. We should get both Power and Gertrude and all we have to talk about is when our next Final 4 is… no pressure

I think you are going to be disappointed if you think he’s going to get a whole year. Probably 8-10 games would be my guess

TJ Power at 21 in the new On3 rankings. Jamie’s prediction algorithm (which he also adjusts on preference not a true non-human analytic tool) has it as a UVA Duke battle.

Also speaks to how weak the 2023 class is, only the top 12 recruits are 5 stars. I actually like that more than the other rankings that automatically make the top 25 5 stars.

Sleep on him more.

(More realistically Jamie Shaw is really good when he sees a recruit. Like when he went to go watch Ryan Dunn and then ranked him 50th in 2022. I dont think he has watched Gertrude all that much. Maybe the last week when he was burnt out. I think hes going to be much higher in the 247 rankings since Bossi has seen him quite a bit and raved about him. Gertrude will be one of those where his rankings are all over the place).

Elmarko Jackson #23

Blake Buchanan 58 (Jamie did watch him play and was high on him)

So do we have any idea how Power ended up two grades behind his natural class? Or will he be a PG student rather than a high school senior?

Its not academics because from all accounts he has really good grades. Andrew Slater has mentioned twice in tweets “Ivy League grades” and this is one of the rare recruitments where academics matter (of course Duke and Notre Dame being involved doesn’t help). 1 year for covid reclass. Another year maybe if he entered elementary school a year later which is common I believe.
