Comalito is the under-the-radar casual downtown spot that you can actually get 8-10 people into even though it’s kinda small.

Now I have a request: looking for a Saturday lunch spot for 4 that vegetarians will like but isn’t exclusively vegetarian.

Revolutionary Soup?

A friend of my dad occasionally came to town and I’d have lunch with him a couple times/year. He was vegan and also didn’t like foods with oil, so finding a lunch place was kinda tough; and always ended up at Rev Soup.

Ah good idea, but it’s closed Saturday.

Riverside. And convert them into meat eaters

There’s actually a decent vegetarian burger stall in the Dairy Market food hall. Shares a kitchen with the Citizen Burger stall, so hopefully they do a good job of not getting their stuff confused.

I am of the opinion that vegans have to fend for themseleves and against all odds my oldest son is in fact a very strict vegan.

Never saw that coming

I don’t believe in veganism.

Lucky for him there’s plenty of lawn outside for dinner.

Oh, damn. I never realized they were closed on weekends.

Appears that Emmy Squared is coming to Barracks, where Zoe’s Kitchen used to be. Would be a great addition.

I love Detroit style pizza, so I’m very interested. There’s a guy who does Detroit style pizza pop-ups out of his kitchen (A Squared Pizza on IG) that have scratched the itch, but something more enduring would be welcome.

Feels like the case with most franchise-type places.

Have an Emmy Sq in the hood. It’s solid. Nice change of pace. Quality can vary a bit

One in DC is fine. nice setting to hang out in and decent cocktails. But there’s better pizza 1 block away and it’s DC we are talking about. So, yeah, not a ringing endorsement.

Thats why it caught me off guard that friend who loves it generally has good taste in food. Surprised that’s his choice

If you’re talking about the one in navy yard, there is actually a better detroit style pizza in the neighborhood: side door Pizza. It’s takeout only but excellent
