Cal was flopping like fish on a boat all game - thankfully the center ref didn’t go for most of them - even talked to the captain midway though to stop embellishment everywhere - it was embarrassing actually as a soccer fan - didn’t look at their roster but seemed very Euro floppy.

Nick had 3 chances that should have been 100% goals - the game really should have been 4-1…
Also in person - Nick is a terrible passer - at least tonight… like not terrible for an Acc player - just terrible in general.

I had a player in a HS game a few weeks ago continually stick his butt out in the penalty box and fall over appealing for a PK… his coach came up to me at halftime and told me I didn’t have the stones to call the penalty and I needed to.
My AR from their offensive side in the first half pushed me aside before I could say anything and sternly told him neither were PKs in the first half and that his player was already going down.
5-minutes into the second half… he did it again even more overtly. I gave him a YC for simulation… his coach went apoplectic… so he got a yellow card for dissent.
Rest of the game went off without a hitch! Not really… but there were no more fake dives in the box.

Yeah usually a yellow card is the only thing that works… talking doesn’t work and it didn’t work last night either because they kept flopping to the end.
I also gave a technical foul in a high school basketball game to a kid on his 3rd flop - “travesty of the game” rule … also he stopped after that

In soccer, it can be ruled as -S (simulation) which is a subsection under USB (unsporting behavior)… so USB-S or in this case it could’ve been ruled PI (persistent infringement) as well.
I would like a “travesty of the game” code… that would be fun. I guess the equivalent in the official soccer code would be -LOR (shows a lack of respect for the game)
I gave a USB-LOR yellow card to a girl, after she thought another girl flopped and I called a foul, for falling to the ground and rolling around wailing at the top of her lungs for at least 10 seconds apparently making fun of the dive.

I would love for someone to get sent off for the combo of 1. yellow for ripping their shirt after scoring (Nick Simmonds hucked his into the stands after scoring against UNC lol), 2. USB-LOR yellow for being a hilarious troll like that

The UVA coach said in the preview that they play a unique and awkward Spanish style to deal with (no idea what that is) so it seems like he was concerned about the matchup ahead of time.
