Literally none of our portal targets would have saved us this season, even Trent Perry who is more of an outside 3pt shooter than physical down hill driver and initiator.

Our best bet was a healthy Gertrude and Bliss

It’s a bummer that Chaminade isn’t in the tournament this season (only every other year now), it would have been fun to see UConn fans have to contemplate the possibility of losing that 7th place game.

He was a pretty good shooter at St. Mary’s and we were coming off a season where we couldn’t shoot the ball to save our lives. We were also desperate for guards.

Our recruiting logic has really fallen off.

We need to get back to our grassroots instead of going after these shiny object recruits that also command high NIL numbers.

We need more athletes at every position as a foundation of our program. From there we can sprinkle in the talent…

I mean we are not scoring a lot anyways so we can atleast get athletes that can learn to play D, and be tough that will keep the other team from scoring.

It’s a Monday home game against a freshman-laiden team. They probably will, but there’s a 15% chance JPJ is juiced and we get a Villanova 3 performance. Never know with conference road games.

The Duke-Kansas game was a keeper. Some thoughts:

  1. I love Kneuppel’s game. He is a bigger version of Ty. His 3-pter wasn’t falling but he was key to the game being close. He will have a nice NBA career.

  2. Almost comical some of the things the announcers had to come up with to emphasize how incredible Cooper Flagg is. Example - “Did you see how Flagg gave up the ball when he was double-teamed”. It was glorious. Flagg is good, just not last night.

  3. When Dickinson was waiting to learn his fate, the announcers were expecting a common foul, not a flagrant 1. It was pretty damn clear he kicked the Duke kid intentionally. I wasn’t expecting a flagrant 2, but then I don’t really understand the distinction and you rarely see them. Kudos to the refs for having the balls to do it.

  4. Duke will kill us.

Normally I’d agree but Duke’s defense is elite this season. Top 3 in country so far.
