๐Ÿ€ Outside the ACC - 2024 Season

They were 2-6 at some point during 22-23, but Clingan was healthy (or at least played). Last year, he was out for 5 games, but fortunately the best team they played was Xavier. They had some meh wins, but they were all wins.

Nah two years ago they were good good. Dominant until a bad stretch but bounced back a few games before tourney and still ended up very underseeded as the 4.

Oh I remember them being #3 and the Hoos being #2 in the country in mid December. UConn also finished the year with the same number of losses as the Hoos, 8. UVA did have less double digit losses than UConn that year though, 1 for the Hoos 3 for the Huskies during the regular season.

They did start getting hot at end of regular season though and were the super trendy pick to be the not top seed to make a run.

Say what you will about the NIL/portal era, I think that watching the faces of Indiana fans who have donated ridic sums of $$ to have one of the highest NIL budgets, only to see their team have to play in the 7th place game at the โ€œIโ€™ve been a bad boyโ€ lawnmower invitational, knowing they are pissing off their mothers and/or mothers-in-law by missing turkey day, to see their shite team โ€” that, my friends, is a particular joy Iโ€™ve never experienced before.

Gotta be. Maybe Raftery, in a certain sense? Guys like Barnes, Pitino, etc. all kinda become more associated with other places / conferences. PJ Carlesimo, I guess? But when I think of PJ, tbh, Sprewell comes to mind first.

Iโ€™ll givee you Raftery. But Pitno I dont associate with that Golden era. PJ will always be the guy Sprewell choked
