I was referring to the fact that they arrive on Grounds unheralded and then get recognition over the course of their time at Virginia.
But Iād still argue that most of our players donāt get the recognition they deserve because stats like PPG are always going to be depressed because of our pace of play.

I wanted Vandy. I want bad things to happen to teams that beat UVA. If we have to sweat the records of the teams we lost to in March, then we didnāt take care of business anyway.
Iād rather get in and get a decent spot because we were good, not because the teams that beat us were.

Heās awful against double teams. Really quite mediocre against any competent bigs. Has been cooking against smaller teams so thatās why I suggested doubling him. But if heās got the size advantage and isnāt bothered, heās very efficient. Similar to Shedrick actually with more back to the basket game but not a rim protector and really bad defensively.
Heās a fine player but you tend to talk players up that donāt play for UVA. āWhy canāt we find a player like thisāā¦ you canāt be serious. Kidd would get eaten alive in the packline the bigger issue is why canāt we develop back to the basket bigs that can also play defense.

I was referring to his offensive skill. Do you really think weāre gonna get guys who are ready to be really good on both ends at the 5 spot?
Maybe one of the young 3 guys we have in the fold now in Blake , Robinson or Cofie?
Cofie is really a 4 but I think he can be really really good.
But most guys that coaches think arenāt projects are gonna go other places where there at least may be a history of utilizing bigs properly.
Kidd is in his 4th year isnāt he? Former top 100 prospect not some diamond in the rough. Has been developed by the Tech staff after transferring from Clemson but wasnāt more than a benchwarmer as of last year.
I still think Cofie and Buchanan have higher ceilings just need similar seasoning.

Yeah, I meanā¦the decent spot you get is some combination of being good and the teams you play being good so I get what youāre saying, thatās just not how it works. We need everyone we play to win and win often.
Except Duke and VT. I hope they lose every game no matter how bad it hurts the ACC.
