I thought Milan would be a liability on defense, could always score/shoot with that high release but the foot speed didn’t seem like it would ever be there. I turned out to be dead wrong.
Also Oetzelberger would be a great successor to Tony.
Some would probably want a more stark change in play style but I agree. Otz is a good coach and very good recruiter.

People want to keep thinking Purdue is 2019 Virginia 2.0 this season.
But there’s some things that make me suspect.
First, in 2018 we psychologically fell apart against UMBC. Purdue seemed to just struggle to compete on the merits and skill with FDU last year.
Second, we were missing Deandre.
Third, we never got beat by average teams in 2018-2019. Just Duke and FSU. Purdue has dropped games to Northwestern and Nebraska.
I’m not saying Purdue can’t do it, but I don’t think their demons have been exorcised in the same way as ours were going into March 2019.
I’d rather not have the first part of that story, but since we do, I want to be the only team that has the second part. #boopurdue
This year’s Purdue team is weird because they’ve played a really tough nonconference schedule and done well there, but have lost to some middle of the road Big Ten teams.
Whereas 2019 Virginia had a decent nonconference schedule and took care of business in the ACC.
However you want to look at it, Purdue this year is caught in that same trap 2019 Virginia was in where no one is going to give a damn about their regular season accomplishments.
