So basically it will either be McCollum or DeVries at Iowa. If it’s McCollum, then that probably means Brownell could get the IU job, meaning Clemson will open (and maybe make Wade think twice about NCSU). If it’s DeVries, Calhoun could go to WVU. Poor MWC is gonna lose half of its coaches.

This is a great summary.
I will laugh my ass off if IU (who thought they were guaranteed one of Brad Stevens, Dusty May, or Scott Drew) gets Brownell. Their fan base will absolutely melt down.
For that reason alone (though Purdue is also my 2nd team), I’m really pulling for McCullum to Iowa.

There’s a whole fundraising thing going on with NCSU fans…they believe if they raise a certain amount for NIL, Wade is coming. Sounds ridiculous and almost certainly untrue but it fits in this case.

It’s almost as if a lot of people in our fan base think Brownell is still the same guy he was eight years ago…. like it or not he’s one of the best coaches in the ACC right now.
I mean seriously he takes a team to the elite eight and then backs it up with an 18–2 ACC season and ACC tournament semifinals at least.

That or altogether missing an ACC tournament being held in Charlotte. Sitting there watching Cal, Stanford, and SMU being “competitive” might have had a pretty big impact.
