Listen Iâm not usually one to jump to conclusions, but that sounds like a guy who made up an excuse to get out of his job because we told him to can the shitty DC that he held loyalty to for some reason. Iâm all for taking time away to address mental health issues or severe burnout, but seriously? One day after? Something doesnât add up there.

100% that was a calculated move on his part. And when look back at his PR puff pieces the last 2 offseasons heâs been eyeing getting back into the game since 2022.
Broncos always wanted us to take him at face value and his word so Iâm not not going to assume he is exaggerating in that statement. He also is someone who presents he does not act on impulse which makes me think him stepping down was not an accident.

Thanks for stopping by.â Even as CTE has struggled, I havenât heard many people (if any) wax nostalgic for the Mendenhall Era.
I wasnât a fan. I never bought his âearned, not givenâ schtick. He certainly never applied it to himself. He never held himself accountable for anything â it was always someone elseâs fault. He had a couple of very good years here and a couple of very mediocre ones, and when the program started regressing, he bailed.

Eh, I mean, weâve had the convo like a billion times. All in all, in the grand scheme of UVA football, Iâll go ahead and say I thought it was a pretty solid period. Like a B-. Bowl eligible a bunch, fun offenses, good QB play, etc. But certainly might have been on the downswing at the end, the VT games bar one were infuriating, and a defensive minded coach like Bronco letting the defense deteriorate to the place it was at the end was a pretty terrible indicator.

Sumrall is a guy worth keeping an eye on. Young-ish had a great run at Troy 24-4 inherits a solid program in Tulane imagine he views it a stepping stone opportunity
