Maybe, but not because of Burton. That dude’s a stiff. Very talented, but he can’t put it together consistently.
Bamba and Hakim Hart, Justin Moore and Dixon back. Very solid core to compete in the BE
Fair enough — I’m just not sold on Burton. Terrific in 2022. People started talking him up as a first-rounder, and the pressure (or something) got to him in 2023. He wasn’t even close to the same player. Part of that could be Mooney, who for some reason still has a job despite only two trips to the NCAAT in the past 13 years.
Not Miami but Florida State

I didnt realize how bad things were at Kentucky until over the past weekend when I went to Rupp Rafters site to see if they were mentioning Kon
They lose a lot and havent added anyone really. A lot of their fans are bleak/doomers and "we are 100% NIT bound).
Reed Sheppard in the portal with Kon as a 2024 commit. We’ll even redshirt Reed since his dad did the weird mid college career redshirt at Kentucky.
And then Reed Gertrude and Kon are the backcourt that gets us national title #3.
Also, Cal can’t decide what kind of team he wants to have. He could put that roster together however he wants, but he keeps over adjusting. From way too many transfers to way too many freshmen.
The way to win is to get good kids and keep them around, but he’s a shopper.
Also, Cal is world class at putting seriously awful lineups on the court. Hmm, I’ve got Devon Booker… let me platoon him.
Didnt they also lose Lance Ware and Damion Collins? Calipari gonna have to scrap together a team.
They only have the freshmen 2023s at the moment?
Forgot that the Ugonna kid announced he was coming back to Kentucky.
So the 2023s (Wagner, Bradshaw, Edwards, Dillingham, Reed), Ugonna, and that Thiero kid
5 freshmen and two sophomores. ooof. And it’s a weak class/none of them are generational talents.
Reed may play a lot
And, yet, ESPN has them number 11 in the “Way Too Early Top 25”. Its existence – before all teams even have a set roster – strikes me as meaningless, BTW.
Turning into the Arkansas of this year, not sure how they have slots left:

funny story for Texas
I hear it was a funny story for Arkansas (after he ditched Texas)
If Dillon Mitchell comes back for TX, that’s a decent consolation. But Dillon is on the Reece announcement timeline seemingly
