If Dre doesn’t get hurt, he’s a top 15 kid. If Gertrude is 6-7 rather than 6-4, he probably in the same range.
Pulling those 2 kids was massive.

My guy Jarin is going to drop big. No offense but you have no real understanding of the actual recruitments so i dont know how productive conversation with you on this subject is. No offense
And Dre literally ended up top 5 ha. And was never a secret to NBA scouts.
I mean Eli ended up in the top 40 on 247 still being 6-4 and with the season ending injury. If he ended the summer fully healthy he might’ve finished as a fringe 5 star when it was all said and done.
Regardless he’s gonna ball out here, so all the better for us lol.
Had a friend of a friend who was around the program at the time. Said he thought Hunter was a potential one and done. The fact we got him 3 years is insane
Most of these posters are pro coach Bennett no matter what he walks on water and above criticism. Even if you post a detailed analysis of issues you see with the program and you bring valid points on recruiting, game management, redshirting etc your the enemy now a troll whatever. This is a discussion board and we have different opinions. I was always taught that I true friend in our case fan will tell you things that is hard to hear but very constructive. A friend or fan even through the see issues and don’t offer constructive criticism when it’s needed, those are the ones that truly hider your progress. They will see you surrounded by a burning house and tell you it’s ok lol and the person warning you crazy.
I mean, you can certainly live your life avoiding things because you’re afraid you may fail. That’s one philosophy. People who take that approach certainly limit their failures. But they also tend to limit their successes.
Why not try for the best players? It doesn’t stop you from also recruiting lesser-rated players who may be more likely to come to Virginia. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
I dont think it has anything to do with pro-bennett. The arguments being made arent sound and hoping from argument to argument. Not a real discussion being had.
None of this is constructive lol. Its being contrarian for the sake of contrarian. Not actual discussion on real shortcomings
Happy Cake day @UVApride7. Thanks for hanging with us!
Now back to the squabbling. Oh and rankings are
And sorry to repeat but Eli was far from a secret by whatever live period that was. Had offers from everyone
Hahaha. I get it but I would argue homeboy set off an interesting convo up in here!
You left out a few of the favorite catch lines.
Bennett is stubborn.
Bennett only plays favorites.
And the new one, Bennett plays a kid of a player he was a teammate of at UWBG for only that reason.
Alright guys…cleaning this one up…go ahead and get the last shots in before it’s deleted.
“Tony can only win recruitments that involve faith”
“Here are several examples where thats not true”
“But none of those kids were 5 stars”
“But they were top 50 kids/heavily contested recruitments which was also a part of the original argument”
“Yeah but they dropped”
“and so will the example you are upset about, Heavily”
Who wants to talk duke or foreigners taking scholarships?
This is hilariously untrue of this board. You want to say that about the Sabre, yeah, maybe that’s the more the case to an extent. But this is just untrue here if you’ve spent any major amount of time here.
Maybe some folks frame their critiques in ways other than “Tony is screwing everything up and we’re forever doomed” but there is plenty of healthy and good natured debate here about what staff could be doing different or better.
Not sure if this is meant to be a positive or a negative, but it was sure a big day in my life.
We should’ve hired Tubby smh.
I think that what some people are *not saying, and should be saying is that we don’t want TB to miss out on options B and C because we are wishing upon landing some unrealistic option A types. I’m not saying that Jarin was an unrealistic A, but I think that Keels was, and then once we saw the writing on the wall that Power became unrealistic as well.
I have an honest to goodness non-UVa recruiting question: my Minnesota fan buddy wants to know why the Gophers are not recruiting Jackson McAndrew, even though he’s from the state? @Hooandtrue @tlgoudy Anyone know?
I told him it’s because he’s headed to Michigan State, but it turns out I was thinking of Jaxon Kohler who is a rising sophomore there…
