As with all things Duke, the question is always how much they expect back next year.

Here’s who could potentially be back for their 24-25 roster:

PG Jeremy Roach (COVID)
PG Jaylen Blakes (Sr)
G Tyrese Proctor (Jr)
G Jared McCain (Soph)
G/F Caleb Foster (Soph)
G/F Jaden Schutt (Jr)
F Mark Mitchell (Jr)
PF Sean Stewart (Soph)
PF TJ Power (Soph)
F/C Kyle Filipowski (Jr)
C Christian Reeves (Jr)

That’s 11, but Draft expectations for Flip, Mitchell, McCain, Proctor, and maybe even Stewart. Also, ya know, highly unlikely Roach plays his COVID year.

Do Blakes or Schutt ever carve out a role in the backcourt? Highly unlikely this year with Roach/Proctor/McCain/Foster in line to dominate guard minutes. So do they stick around next year?

They’ll add wings Isaiah Evans (Top 10-20 5-star) and Darren Harris (Top 60 4-star). Put Flagg in the front court. Still watching to see if Flory Bidunga joins the post, I think they have the slight edge over the field, holdup may be which class he joins. Ngongba feels UConn bound.

Anyways, could see a 24-25 Duke lineup that looks like:

PG Jaylen Blakes (Sr)
G/F Jaden Schutt (Jr)
SF Isaiah Evans (Frosh)
SF Darren Harris (Frosh)
PF Cooper Flagg (frosh)
PF TJ Power (Soph)
F/C Flory Bidunga (Frosh or Soph)
C Christian Reeves (Jr)

That roster will need a little more post presence. But mostly there’s a ton of room for more guards, especially if Schutt and Blakes never turn into main rotation guys. So nothing right now that should scare off Kon from early PT unless a bunch of guys decide to run it back against expectations.

Why Flagg at the point? He’s a SF/PF type I think

Ugh, you’re right. Who was I confusing him with? It’s been a long week. Fixing above.

I’d think Foster will still be there in 24-25, and one of Mitchell or Stewart will probably stick around.

If they trusted Kon to genuinely run the point OR he could guard ACC-level 2s, then I agree. On the other hand, I suspect neither will be the case and Duke will probably add more backcourt help (perhaps the Boozer twins). Kon’s good enough that I think he’d carve out a rotation slot no matter what, but I doubt the path to playing time would be particularly clear.

Also, I continue feeling firm that Power is screwed and will just steadily become more so.

Power will play plenty if it’s about college production.

Notre Dame has got a good one in this guy. Was watching his game earlier.

How are they going to end up with only one guard on the roster again? Has anyone told Kenny Payne more than one person on the team is allowed to be good at dribbling?

Not to be mean to the kid, but you have to be some sort of special to be academically ineligible at louisville

Saw he was OTE last year, have to imagine the academic setup there isn’t air tight.

I figured he’d go to Notre Dame but there’s a new Creighton prediction on Rivals.

Feel like that’s a pretty big loss for Wisconsin right? My understanding was they were hoping to land one of either McAndrew or Kon.

Interesting on Creighton. His dad is an alum but he has Traudt as a redshirt freshman a year ahead of him (and a center or two on the roster.)

Please… anyone but Wisconsin!
