Did you see UVa Rutgers in The Barclays like 10 years ago?
Oh god I watched it on TV. I actually felt bad for Rutgers, they had two dudes who looked like P-5 players that were surrounded by a bunch of scrubs lmao.
Lol, I was at my parents’ house and was hyping up UVA bball to my dad (immigrant who likes ball but doesn’t really pay attention to college ball until March Madness) and put on this game, and he was confused why no one could make a shot.
Bro. I was there with maybe 200 other spectators. One of my boys was sitting way behind me hammered chanting “put Fresh in!” There were so few people you could hear it all
It was like Pack Line gone wrong.
What’s sad is I’m pretty sure that was the winner’s bracket game too lol. Think we survived a scare from La Salle the day before.
God that 2014-2015 team was so damn good before JA got hurt. Maybe our 2nd best ever behind 2019.
Was crazy that NJ Rutgers playing Virginia up here and NO ONE at the game
The Maine game is solidly in the top 3 ugliest Bennett era games. Fresh nailed another with Rutgers in the early season tourney 2014, a 45-26 win. And perhaps the worst of all, a 48-38 home loss to Wisconsin in 2013.
The game against GT from the 2014-2015 season is up there too, think that was 46-27.
You could probably throw a couple games against Wiscy up there lol, definitely for basketball purists only. Actually forgot I was also at that 2013 Wisconsin game, man I’ve seen some shit.
Wasn’t it on Thanksgiving or something? I went to the lasalle game and skipped Rutgers for
Some reason
Definitely November. I dont think I went for LaSalle and am not sure why
Finally convinced my buddy who was skeptical of our play style to come with me to a UVA game - assured him we were awesome and the offense was a thing of beauty. That was the UVA-VT Feb 2018 game where we shot 11-38 from three and lost our only ACC game of the season. It also poured rain haha. Ah well.
Hell yes
He grabbed Tom Sheehy’s junk, tom threw the ball at him and got him ejected
It all adds up now Tex!
I thought it was a lovely game.
The Miami game the night they retired Malcolm’s number was pretty bad too.
Would have to go back and check the box score but pretty sure we lost, neither team hit 50, and that was after going to OT.
Was there for that one AND Maine.
I think it was double OT
Edit I stand corrected
I remember that team specifically could not drive or score down low. The Duke game that year Coach K adjusted in the 2nd half and extended the defense out, more or less daring us to do anything but shoot 3’s. We had no answer.
The Austin Nichols donut team.
