This Basile Guy any good? Kinda looks like he’d get eaten at the ACC level but at Tech I’m sure they’ll have him turned into a 40% 3 point shooter if he goes there.
Still early but been a pretty horrible offseason for VT basketball. Ward likely going to Georgetown (miss on him twice despite hiring his HS coach), Aluma leaving (at one point thought he and Mutts were going to come back), Mutts likely gone, Alleyne/N’Guessan/Ojiako all transfer out, and they’ve added no one but a former 3 star recruit who got hurt and missed practically all of last year. Their front court as it stands would be the worst in the ACC
Arvin is terrible at underpromising and overdelivering over on 247. Likely because he doesn’t really have any actual info, but he definitely feeds into the hype too soon as well
This is what one of Tech’s fans that they consider “in the know” said about Basile if you wanna see what delusional looks:
“To me, he is priority #1 in the portal. He just brings a lot to the offense that VT is losing. Id almost go as far as saying he would be a 1:1 replacement for Aluma.”
That guy has more inside info than anyone else on that board but he’s pretty delusional. That’s pretty disrespectful to Aluma honestly, they will see how important he was to them next year when he’s gone
Great fit for the Zags, especially if Timme comes back. Still not a top 5 team, IMO, but Timme -Reid is, IMO, a a more complementary combo than Timme-Chet combo.
