While they were out on the west coast, I arranged to have the entire coaching staff wear a special pair of sneakers that we’ll be auctioning off on ebay (where I work now). All the proceeds will be going to UVA children’s hospital in the name of Chris Dembitz. The same campaign he ran for his daughter (I am phony bennett). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTJnb5-66QQ
The Players also wore a pair of Kobe “Girl Dad” sneakers in honor of him. All those will be auctioned off as well and will benefit the player’s NIL. Chris sponsored UVA players. including Chase Coleman (now on the staff) on the day the NIL launched. We wanted a way to honor him and help the playersl. Something he cared deeply about.
I also made some t shirt samples that they signed.
The goal was just to make sure Chris is remembered. I will start Feb 6th and run through Feb 16th via Locker Room Access’ eBay account (lockerroominc on eBay).
I’m working on more details for the campaign.
But wanted to see what u guys think i should do to help promote. Obviously this isn’t the best year to do this, but its more of a proof of concept. It’s so rare to get this type of access and I dont want to waste it, i want it to drive more for opportunities for fans and players.
I’ll post on twitter, facebook, YouTube, instagram, tiktok…
@Merch Think the players are allowed to wear the gear in the postgame presser? Would get more eyes on it.
Also thinking about UVA-related media. I don’t have connections, but maybe you can get on Luke Neer’s or Jay James’s WINA radio shows and/or Preston Willett’s podcast?
And since it’s benefitting UVA Children’s, perhaps they can give it a boost on their socials?
