I think the big market seems to be comical, but it was last year too.
So far the prices Iāve seen thrown around arenāt absolutely ridiculous, weāre just in a position where weāre going after higher end players at their market rate this year.

Iām just saying if Xavier with a much lower budget than us is throwing around three million then TDR presumably got three million, Grünloh not far behind
What were your expectations when Jacari signed? He was also taking a step up in competition level and the Ivy is rated a better league than the Summit.
Itās a fair question/point.
I thought he was going to be our starting 2 fwiw. I thought he looked pretty athletic and showed a bit more off the dribble. Iām having a hard time adjusting for Cornellās offense.
Jacari also had a nominally better defensive pedigree. Advanced stats were poor (whole team and league had poor defense) but he was on the all-defensive team for the Summit league. Fiegan has a negative DBPR on EvanMiya (Jacari had a small positive one) but otherwise strong analytics for both.
I could be talked into him as a bench piece, but I also kind of hope our expectations are higher this season. Maybe Iām way underestimating these kidsā egos, but I would think the Jacari role would be very compelling to a lot of guys, some of whom are potentially even better than Jacari.
freshman Jaylen Petty from Texas Tech is in the portal. Early rumor is wants to go back west (from Seattle). But money can fix that homesickness.
6ā1 guard is 37% from 3. Multi year jacari
There are some really good PGs out there (maybe not in the portal but at mid majors). Leroy Blyden and Colby Garland. They are probably smaller than Odom wants when paired with Mallory though.
Is he home sick or does he live in Lubbock?
Definitely a kid who can play. Id imagine he can elevate his game a bit from freshman to soph year.
IMO it can be worth contextualizing relative to the team average. BPR (and RAPM) are different ways of assigning credit for a teamās overall +/- to each player. So team context has a big effect (e.g. the best player on the #200 team will have a lower BPR/RAPM than the worst player on the #50 team). But projecting transfers means projecting team context as well. So with Fiegen, Cornell has an even worse defense than 2024-25 NDSU did (on EvanMiya), and so his slightly negative DBPR ended up being 2nd-best on his team, 0.69 (nice) away from the best defender, compared to Jacari, who was also 2nd-best in DBPR on that NDSU team and 0.23 away from the best defender.
Garland visiting Auburn this weekend.
Blyden its Utah and Rutgers with the instate schools Michigan and Michigan St beginning to show some interest
Hearing Juke Harris may visit Tennessee this weekend. Also, Michigan has gotten involved.
We were interested in him last off-season.
Did pretty well in a shitty situation/environment. Sue so that he has 3 years left instead of two
Also heās Lithuanian so he meets Odomās NATO itch. And heās friends with Sam Lewis
He can still be really solid contributor at power 5 level. But honestly he should just go back to Howard and drop 1 billion points per game and live life large
Ughhhhā¦.smaaaaaaaallll.
For a high level bench microwave scorer not really
NCAA looking to go to 5 years of eligibility starting at age 19 (meaning an age cap of 24 in college sports). Looking to eliminate redshirts in this proposal. No idea if medical redshirt will still count
5 years no exceptions is the way to go.
None. Zip zilch zippo. Not even militaryā¦.. ok maybe militaryā¦
Get Ugo another year of eligibility?
Looking back at highlights from 2019 madness the first thing I noticed is they were still using a real basketballā¦. Truly was the last season of real college basketball
feel like youd have to have a religious exemption for Mormons too
