I know weāre kind of long past these days at this point, but I imagine this now means he will get his degree which does make me happy. Glad heās sticking around, I really hope heās able to come back and live up to the potential he so clearly has.

He could be a guy that can carve out role as the backup 4. I think he can be a more valuable player than Tillis was. He would give us more of a physical presence in the paint on O & D (rebounding, scoring & defending) but we dont get as much of the ability to handle the ball on occasion or hitting the outside shot but Tillis did that at such a low volume, itll likely not matter.

I feel like some combination of Carrere and Barksdale could be able to give us the Tillis production this year. Maybe not quite as efficiently because Tillis shot really well, but surely they can give us 15mpg with 4/3/2, right..?

Different skill sets. Remember Tillis was a poor defender. Id imagine Barksdale can guard other 4s a lot better and rebound a lot better than Tillis. He can be used in a different manner if he is on the floor with a 5 who can shoot and low and behold we already have one of those in GrĆ¼nloh. GrĆ¼nloh can draw his man out of the paint and that gives spacing for Barksdale to post up down low. He has good touch from his highlights.
Yeah, I find it somewhat surreal that we get announcement videos when a freshman decides to return for his sophomore season. I get it that itās a whole new world, but it still seems weird.
Edit: Weirder stillāan announcement video from a redshirt freshman who didnāt even play. Shouldnāt his announcement be: āLetās Run Itā? Since thereās nothing to run back ā¦

Same. Really hope that is the case. There will be be fewer and fewer opportunities to see big time athletes walk the lawn, so Iām going to be happy any time itās a possibility. Hope he is on track to graduate this year.
