Why canāt we overpay now? I figured Odom would get a boost from donors after a 30-win season.
Market value has increased considerably since last year. I think people are underestimating how much money it took to retain the guys currently on our roster.
I donāt disagree but you only named 3 teams so itās not like weāre behind 20+ schools and trying to catch up big time. Just one good guard away
Those of the types of teams we have the talent to compete with this year if we make a couple big splashes though.
If we got someone like Able and one good Euro guy then weāre as good as anyone
Maybe we donāt feel itās conducive to team chemistry to drop bigger bags on newbies than our returnees.
Maybe weāre cowering in fear of the CSC.
Maybe weāre not a serious program. (donāt shoot the messenger. That theory was kicked around this week)
Maybe Odom & Autry suck at greasing up boosters compared to Griff Aldrich.
Perhaps we will end up spending as much as last year when itās all said and done.
Just some guesses.
I might be hallucinating but didnāt the college basketballās most handsome coach start recruiting Richardson?
Iād also like to know which one of you bribed your short king son to mistake my plaid UVA hat for a VT hat (does VT even have plaid hats?) \no offense to short kings but he was also talking about raccoon dick to a different girl in the self checkout/
Mick Cronin?
Iām about to have the most UVA fan take of all time.
I was just watching Eli and Devin Tillisā interview on Corner Media Co. They talked about the team staying out for the song and Odom telling them āNow you gotta do it when you loseā (hence why they did it after the Tennessee game). Tillis and Eli both agreed they hope UVA teams going forward do the same, win or lose. It was really cool to see how much both of these guys obviously care about the school and its traditions.
All this to say Iām really glad Odom prioritized high character guys in year one. The team all got along great, never showed frustration with each other on the court or the bench, and respected the uniform. I really hope the guys Odom gets this year are similarly low ego, team first, high character guys. Chance is a great guy to lead that charge.
Also curious whoās gonna be our Tillis next year in terms of fan engagement. That dude has a future in sports media if he wants it.
Eww
Iām hoping that Elijah will take Devinās place on those Corner Media interviews. He is well spoken and he probably learned a lot from his roommate.
TDR can absolutely slide down to the 3 on O and D. Lewis can do it on O, like you mention. I think he can do it on D as long as it isnt an overly quick guard. I was intrigued with Cole Cloer because I would have loved to see Lewis/cloer at the 2/3 on the floor together to get long and plus shooting on the perimeter. Oh well. Id love Able though. He gives you the size of a 3 but the athleticism of a guard.
I think trying to get another quality forward is significantly harder than a quality guard or wing, market depth-wise.
Malik ācommittedā a couple weeks before that, he didnt get his eligibility waiver until then, thatās when it was public. TDR committed in Mid-May, then his eligibility was announced and UVA went public with his commitment
Interesting figures here from Evan Miya

Probably total bs. Where is the data coming from? Agents? Huge incentive for agents to inflate the numbers. From schools? Zero incentive for them to make numbers public. Color me extremely skeptical.
He has a tool suite for programs, so I assume it is a healthy bit of self-reporting. Yeah not sure how valuable it is, but he does have a bunch of big time programs using his stuff.
No reason for anyone to be honest unless theyāre engaging in illegal price fixing lol
