šŸ—ŗ Potential ACC Expansion & Conference Realignment

I see your point, but I think we’ve all be underestimating the impact of state agriculture production on B1G membership. They HAD to take 2 CA schools, because CA was an underrepresented agricultural powerhouse. FL, on the other hand, surprisingly low in agricultural production. It’s a strike against us, I’m afraid.

Here in Virginia as well!

Unless they added California schools to corner the wine production market? In that case we are competing against New York and Oregon

It’s possible, but the only top 10 general Ag states the B1G is missing are Kansas and Notth Carolina.

We got plenty of ag in the commonwealth. Might not beat the midwest states pound for pound but we got plenty. I grew up next to a peanut farm and right now drive by miles of corn and soybean whenever I visit the Neck.

I’m sure there are plenty of us Hoos who have picked up hay, I personally hated when it was alfalfa. Heaviest stuff in the world. Not a lot of tossing of that stuff when your 5’7ā€ (with shoes).

No, what I heard is that she’s leaving because we’re turning the aquatic center into a skating rink to up our B10 appeal.

Well this absolutely sucks.

Closer to home and her boyfriend transferred to Florida recently as well.

Apparently the Big 12 and PAC10/12 have ended talks. Not sure what that means for the ACC. Article says that the projected dollars of an ACC - PAC12 alliance underwhelm.

ESPN just leak something they weren’t supposed to?

Worst possible scenario would be we stay put and Tech somehow ends up in the SEC.

I highly doubt we’d stay put if there’s any movement from ACC teams. UNCheat will be coveted by both conferences, and I don’t see them going anywhere without us. Worst case scenario is we all stand pat in the ACC with no additional teams added and continue to let the new P-2 dust us financially.

I do think there’s a realistic scenario where us and UNCheat make a jump for the B1G, and the SEC responds by snatching up NCST and VT.

I was watching CBS earlier and they talked quite a bit about Beamer and USCe’s chances throw year. Probably just a mistake.

They were also kinda pouring one out for the PAC12 as a major conference. If the B12 doesn’t want them as a merge partner, it’s probably because they see more value in pilfering Oregon and Arizona. They briefly discussed an ACC-Pac12 partnership but didn’t think FSU and Miami flying to Oregon State would end up working for anyone.

That’s only doable if the B12 takes 4 teams which is probably doable but isn’t imminent.

Do you really really really think unc wouldn’t go anywhere without us? If the big added notre dane and there was one spot left, they aren’t going? If the sec said we will only take you and duke to keep that rivalry intact, you think they die on the sword for us? I don’t think so, not for a second

I do. Us and UNCheat as universities are tied at the hip, it’s been reported as such and would take a massive departure from either athletic department in order to split us up. I’d also be shocked if the SEC preferred to take Dook over us for the sake of a basketball rivalry, that would be a horrible business move on their part. Dook routinely draws the lowest TV viewership numbers in the ACC for Football and adds very little in terms of grabbing regional markets.

I’m in no way an expert on this stuff, so take my opinion for whatever you think it’s worth. But based on what I’ve read and heard from people who do know what they’re talking about with regards to realignment, there’s a very high likelihood that UNCheat and UVA will be a package deal when it comes time to move conferences.

Package deals do seem to be a thing lately:

  1. Texas and Oklahoma
  2. USC and UCLA
