Good clean fun man. if they aint messin with ya they dont like you my brother
Iāve seen Hoosiers, lolā¦āBlue Chipsā is where itās at thoughā¦
Since we are doin this mine would be He Got Game. Public Enemy with the song puts that one over the top for me
Canāt disagreeā¦Ray and Denzel, classicā¦
I agree as well. He Got Game is my second favorite basketball movie behind Space Jam
@DFresh11 - just unfriended, unfollowed, unlinkedined, and banned.
okay - who is old enough here to have seen Fast Break? Bernard King! Michael Warren! Gabe Kaplan!
knew that was coming
Am old enough but dont really remember it outside of Bernard King. Fish that saved Pittsburgh another good one. Dr Js car was unreal
My senior year I played basketball and our school didnāt even have a home gym. Every week we rode a bus to a practice facility 25 min away we rented and we only played neutral site and away games. We sucked, but still some fond memories!
It was just OK. Gene Hackman and Dennis Hopper have the emotional range of a newt. Jimmy Chitwood was a fraud.
For some reason never like Hackman as the coach. Aint seem real for me
Now thatās hardcore. My middle school team was like that, we practiced outside and played all away games.
Would you prefer Nick Nolte and Anfernee Hardaway? With a little Shaq thrown in?
Ha - thatās Dukeā¦
Ironically, we are battling Indiana for Kaufman and beat out Indiana for Kyle. Many in Indiana thought Kyle was the second coming of Chitwood. Kyle was also a Indiana Mr. Basketball. It would be nice if we could make it two for two?
How dare you bring this back to recruiting in a recruiting thread. This is now the movie review thread. Hoosiers bests them all and itās not close
I remember being at Southern Illinois University where I was delivering a speech when Stick 50, as he became known, announced he was coming to UVA. I was in my first year as a faculty member and after the talk I checked news reports (pre-Internet!) and learned Ralph had chosen UVA.
I was damn near beside myselfā¦so excited! The academic people around me had virtually no idea about hoops. As I tried to explain the importance of the announcement, they were looking at me while pulling their heads and shoulders back and ducking their chins.
So whatās my point here with the recollection? Well, I think that specific recruitment was a huge event in national hoops, and (of course) for UVA basketballā¦but these days weāre waiting on so many very talented guys. The pool of players is so much greater. And, as many of us have argued, itās important to get the talented guys who fit UVAās āmold.ā
Iām quite content to let the coaching staff make those plans, and I trust that they will land the kind of kids and athletes of whom weāll be proud.
I agree with the Hoosiers comment!! Great movie!! Oh, speaking of recruiting, I canāt help myself.
Good Post! And prospects who want to be at UVA and appreciate all that it has to offer!
How about Jawanna Mann and Double Teamed? Tammi Reiss of course appeared in both!
