I could see us having a similar season to what Louisville just had. Maybe worse honestly

Honestly, we’ve done ok (stress ok) with just ok talent the past two years. There are scenarios that this group of players can do fine. We have good young talent.

The early CTB teams had minimal talent and did at least okay. Especially if no Reece, I could see us struggling a lot early. But then coming back enough to be sort of average record-wise with optimism for future

Kind of thought so. I mean it could be a rough season, but the young talent is there. I remember being a little worried about our 2017-18 season going into it. Ty, Kyle, and Dre quickly put my mind at ease. I doubt we see a trio that good this year, but who knows… lots of unknowns next year.

R u saying Reece is in the same category as a shooter as ty coming out of college? It’s not even close
I really don’t see our team next year being any worse than 2022, even if Reece doesn’t come back. In fact I think we’ve got a decent chance to make the tourney with our current roster as it stands. Yeah we’re SUPER young and lack some size in the frontcourt, but our rotation construction is sooooo much better than it’s been the past few years. We’ve got guys on the perimeter that can shoot, guys in the frontcourt who are well coordinated, and some serious athleticism at multiple positions.

I think he was saying the opposite - the fact that Ty, who was/is a much better shooter is struggling for an NBA roster spot means that Reece is probably going to struggle that much more.

Reeces path to NBA is on the defensive end but he needs to at least be an average shooter (doesn’t need to be Ty level). His path now is come back and show improvement or spend a few years in the g league.
No doubt we are infinitely better with Reece vs blue next year… I think it’s a win win… but don’t lose out on blue if Reece is done here…I think… with my 2 brain cell intellect… that he seems done with college… not us… he either comes back or goes pro in some fashion

I mean… maybe Im wrong… I just don’t see him improving enough with the added nba 3 point distance and his mediocre shooting form by coming back for a year
I thought he was showing some progress early on just hitting the open shots but his injury seemed to derail things

We’re making the tournament next year. If Tony can get as much as he did out of last year’s team, with it so lacking in talent and size, he can get next year’s guys in the tourney AND be a more dangerous in March. If Reece returns, we’re a potential top 10 team (Reece surrounded by shooters, athletes like Eli, Dunn and Bond and a big who can finish inside is super exciting). If no Reece but we get Blue, it could be almost as good but not realistically. Still a tourney team. Only way we really struggle is if we don’t get Blue, Eli isn’t healthy and we have a key injury elsewhere.

Well dang, hopefully the Reece situation gets more clarity in the next week or so as combine invites go out, rather than drag out until the 5/31 deadline. I don’t think Blue needs to rush to fill a spot a Penn st, they have plenty of space
