Ron Sanchez Returns to UVa as Co-Associate Head Coach

I didn’t think of that but it could be. Williford to the GM spot, Sanchez gets the AHC, and Carpenter bumped up to an assistant spot.

Thats not what the press release says

No, all it says is he is returning as AHC. Says nothing about any other coaching moves or titles

What am I missing? press release says he was AHC in when he left and is “returning in the same role” - don’t see anything that says he’s the one and only

Was Ron the lead recruiter in building the 2016 class?

Glad to have Sanchez back.
But the contrarian in me - asks WHY did he resign after a winning season?
Could he be returning for an opportunity that he just couldn’t pass up?

My question is how the hell did we set up an interview, and then complete that interview, and then Tony coming to that decision in the 20 minutes between Sanchez stepping down and him being announced?

Get him in touch with Bliss right away.

The better place to be is Cville?

Sanchez- “man I’m excited to move back to C-Ville”

Tony- “C-Ville? You’re moving next door to the Knueppel family in Wisconsin.”

Next door? I want him to move in with the Knueppel family.

By everyone’s reaction I take it this is seen as “good” news.

I’m trying to recall Sanchez as a recruiter, and I need to go back and look at for whom he was lead recruiter.

Assistant TO the head coach

Yeah, that was my thought.

TB has an idea of when he’ll step down, trusts Ron, and wants to start a transition plan.

Or I could be totally off base.

It is not. It is the first step in Tony announcing he is stepping down and Williford is taking over. (if you want to be a doomsdayer :upside_down_face:)
