What do you think about this player comparison: Andrei Kirilenko?

Maybe I’m misremembering Kirilenko’s game but they don’t feel remotely like similar players. Wasn’t he more finesse and shooting?

Nah, Kirilenko was a nasty defender:

He was a pretty good passer too and a good finisher on cuts:

6’9” 220 combo forward. 3 time all defense (1 first team). At his peak 3.3 bpg, 1.9 spg. 8 boards, 16 points, 3-4 assists.

AK was not a finesse player

Then I’m definitely misremembering

I like obi toppin with less offense as a comp. Same kind of length, athleticism, and fluidity.

Except Obi Toppin is not a good defender

lol - if Dunn ever gets as good as Kirilenko on offense I will be very surprised.
Go look at Herb Jones stats at Alabama his first 2 years. That’s Ryan Dunn.

Career 6 pt per game scorer his first 3 years.
Overall 35th pick after playing all 4 years but if there were a redraft he’s likely a top 22 pick that year.

Do you think Dunn can do this before he graduates?

Has Dunn officially turned into Andre Roberson?

More like Oscar Robertson

lol - and Jordan Minor is like Lew Alcindor

Givony/Woo still have RD at #12 on their list of top 25 draft prospects, just released this AM. They acknowledge the offensive struggles and that he may be polarizing.

Useful corrective for anyone who thought his recent play was going to tamp down on the draft chatter. But (1) they might be wrong (predictions about the future often are), and (2) lotta time for things to change (for the better, too!).

Granted, the last time I watched the NBA, Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo was still in theaters, but I can’t believe Dunn is even draftable right now, let alone a lottery pick.

You don’t have to follow the NBA to see that he’s the best defender we’ve had in the program in the Bennett era, and it’s not particularly close.
