We have so many incredible uniform combos to tap into. I’m sure it’s been discussed before, but do we know how much of that is the coach’s decision vs. Nike’s, the AD’s, etc.?

If they want the gold tag on back it has to be designed by Nike - but they can do alts all they want (see cursive last year) if they don’t care about that.

1. I don’t care about the redesigned logos, even the beetle one. Many might disagree but we needed a brand refresh and the newer V-Sabre is a subtle but dramatic improvement. It still puzzles me why this subject angers so many. The alt logos haven’t been slapped onto the side of the football helmet or anything.
2. I HATE the post 2020 basketball jerseys. They are absolutely awful and must be changed. Not sure if it’s Tony’s fault or Nike’s but Odom needs to fix them. Go back to the 2019 natty ones or create new ones that people will actually like. These uniforms are bad for the brand.
3. I’m indifferent on having a bunch of alternate uniforms. It was cool to see us try things out last year but they alts seemed hastily put together (weird fit, too small font, etc.). Well intentioned but I’d rather just see us have iconic main jerseys and stick with them. We should only have alts if we’re forced to keep the post 2020 main ones.
4. I want that gold tag as prominent as possible.

I wish they’d sell more of the Nike elite gold tag gear for fans in general. It might be subtle thing that most don’t think about but you push that brand recognition whenever possible. You want people associating the V with championship gold. Don’t limit it to being team exclusive make it a part of the general gameday feel.

I have always been amazed that there are fans that care so much about the uniforms. I wouldn’t care if they played “shirts & skins”. I am going to cheer for the Virginia team regardless of what they wear. Sheesh! Are there any more trivial concerns than uniforms?

First, uniforms don’t establish a brand. Or, at least, in this case they don’t establish brand for a reasonably intelligent person. The University of Virginia’s brand has been well established for longer than any of us have been around. It is also a pretty shallow notion that uniforms, swag, or logos could enhance UVa’s brand. Maybe when you grow up you’ll come to realize this.

If the Virginia team played skins, it would take me a few games to know which was our team.
