Just got around to listening to this one on my run today… along with the Dirk Kastra one… wanted to comment on the “relegation” mention from Diakite from that press conference. As an expat in Germany who has played on the local town’s “soccer” team since I moved here… the system would hypothetically allow my town team to get promoted to the 1.Bundeliga in 9 season getting promoted along the way. Obviously that would be almost impossible and then there are stadium requirements, financials, etc… but wouldn’t it be interesting if the ACC went to a two-tier league where there was promotion and relegation each year? In basketball, it would allow an 8-team top division, 7 team bottom division with promotion/relegation… probably similar in football. I think it would be pretty neat seeing as teams moved up and down.
