Either Iowa or Creighton. If Iowa could mean they are no longer involved with Quentin Coleman?
Concerns about McCollums ability to recruit are looking vastly overblown
I’m still concerned about his ability to get a shot off before the shot clock goes off
They’ll be begging Fran to come back (and bring TJP) by February
And Reed Bailey stinks, too, while I’m at it
But seriously, who has McCollum signed? I’m not seeing anyone on their 2026 247 page
Trey Thompson 94th ranked recruit, and the Utah kid is 64th if they get him. No evidence to believe McCollum has DMV North Carolina or Philly/NJ recruiting ties
Ah, I didn’t even see that post.
Thompson more impressive than Barksdale? (I honestly don’t know)
Not trying to be an Odom defender — too early either way — but I think he should get some credit for Mallory, and all the credit for Barksdale.

McCollum knows his type, and when he finds one he likes, he goes hard for them. So yeah, I’d call that being a good recruiter. Iowa is a prefect place for him too, helps. Thompson will be a stud. Big big time get for them.
Given that Iowa City is where he was born and he’s been within a 5-hour driving radius of it his whole professional life, yeah it’s pretty much perfect.
I’ll tell you the guy that’s a stud recruiter and gets no love. Damon Stoudamire at GT. He’s found hidden gems, then reeled in a few big ones, seems to have developed a little bit of a local pipeline with the Overtime place.
Unfortunately their resources must suck, keep losing guys they shouldn’t. Nait George leaving this year was brutal. It’s like pedaling in place.
Stoudamire as our GM and an assistant?
More likely he heads back to a support staff on an NBA team
Stoudamire and Earl Grant battling for the Sisyphus-of-the-ACC title.
Creighton.
Also looking around and saw this ![]()
I feel like the guards we’ve offered up to this point are pretty much all guys who could potentially complement Mallory in the backcourt. I like Bivins but don’t think he fits that mold given he’s only 6’0.
Actually don’t mind Houston getting involved in all of these. We’re likely to lose each one individually, so I’d rather it be to somewhere I don’t think will have their coach much longer. I’ll be the first on little Sampson doesn’t have the juice.
Jonas sharing Carrere material the vision intensifies (Yeah I know its just a guy gassing up his boy on Instagram which is common)

I’m I wrong in thinking we reallllllllly need to nail the GM hire for recruiting going forward? Especially since Odom chose not to bring in a more high profile recruiting type assistant.
We need the $14 million to translate into a really fun season and we will start landing kids.
Still think we should try to get GT’s coach if they fire him after this season (although he probably ends up back in the NBA coaching staff world).
I also feel like there are plenty of top 100 kids we could land if offered but staff seem to have their sights set high (and hopefully they adjust to somewhere more productive)
