I think he was the NBA representative/tour guide for team USA during the Rio olympics

Yea. He played for Flamengo then in Rio. Huge local fan favorite there

Nickname Grandao. The BIG one

The overseas guys are really solid. Euroleague-level guys might be out of reach for these purposes, so maybe no Thompson, Tobey, Dev. But Woldo, Gardner, and Jake Groves are probably all at the right tier for this?

Unexpected benefit

Our new team will get to scrimmage against the old guys all summer

Wait … so all the out transfers will stay around all summer to play against all the new in transfers?
Sweet!!!

What league is Kody Stattman playing in these days?

The NBL in Australia still; he’s been back and forth between the top division and their G-League equivalent but I think is on a top division team now.

Kody had that amazing game last season that Sam Vecinie attended and he raved about Stattmann on Twitter. I think his team had their top 3-4 guys out or something and almost he led them a win.

  • My question: should guys that transferred out be allowed to play for EmbraceThePace?
  • Oh hellz nah

I hear the guys that transferred out have a plan B team in the works. It only has one guy so far, though. It’s called Fish for the Swish.

I voted “Hellz nah” but would make an exception for guys who did 3+ years here before using only 1 year elsewhere – e.g. Shayok, and certainly Caffaro. (And perhaps, not long from now, knock on wood, McKneely.)

You go and do 2+ years somewhere else (e.g. Morsell), you’re one of theirs now.

Yea. Shayok is who I was thinking of. I consider Caffaro a real Hoo hombre

The only exception to me is if the guy gave us his all but then dropped down a level because he wasn’t quite ACC elite team material. Thinking folks like Jesperson, Stith, Taylor Barnette, Darius…

Shayok’s a tough call because he did give us 3 years but ultimately went laterally to another P5 team. Marco dropped down but then went back up to a P5 team, as did Igor.

There haven’t been many cases of guys dropping down in recent years. Bond is the obvious case. Caffaro. Malachi Poindexter has to get credit too. But a lot of our outbounds lately have been going to other power conference teams: McKoy, Morsell, JAR, Shedrick, and Traudt. They’re dead to me.
