Thinking it means orange-letters/numbers on the white uni
Said ānopeā - setting low expectations so that I donāt get my hopes up
What do we think āStripe JPJā means?
Was thinking similar when I saw the āorange outā - easy wins for the fans will only help him
There was an āorange outā for Kās last game at JPJ⦠90% or better of the crowd was in orange. Meant nothing for the uniforms.
Ronnys way of pandering for his jobā¦
Better not be a troll job
Orange and blue candy stripe warm up pants
Itās Rhodeās world, the rest of us just live in it.
Subscription required, but Coach Ron is mentioned in the listicle as one of the coaches under the most pressure this season.
I would argue Ron should feel no pressure actually. Given a big time job for a year to do his thing. Will work or it wont. And maybe doesnt matter either way really (as far as the job goes)
Yes, looking at Ronās vs. other coaches resumes, a mediocre to good season with UVA could go a long ways toward getting him a better mid-major head coaching job if UVA doesnāt keep him. But if it doesnāt work out, you can point to it being a new team with a HOF HC leaving, which set him up for failure.
Also, Iām probably overly optimistic about this team but hearing Ron talk more, the players talk about how things are going, and Ron telling Warley that he would be behind Dai Dai make me think this could be a good season (and by that I mean either the team makes the tournament or starts pulling out some big wins toward the end of the year).
Yeah, the guy who put Ron on the list basically said he wouldāve picked Kyle Neptune as the guy under the most pressure, but other writers already picked him. Also said this could be Ronās only shot at high-level P4 head coach job.
I concur with your assessment.
D^2, iMac, Rohde, Saunders, Buchanan
D^2 brings up the ball and then he and Rohde basically split the pg duties.
We aināt going to let Rhode shoot are we?.I like him kind of playing the point when we are in our offense.
Me, too! Him bringing the ball up makes me nervous, and I have a lot of trouble even imagining him driving aggressively to collapse a defense and then kicking out to an open shooter.
But if he can do those things even a little, and use his genuinely good passing to QB the offense, then a lot of the issues I have with him go away. And if he gets some confidence by doing that successfully, maybe heāll start hitting those open 3s 35% of the time. If D^2 can hit 35% of his 3s, we could have a genuinely solid all-around offense. To complement a hopefully gelling defense spearheaded by Saunders and a rim-protecting Blake. And then CTB will come back! And give us all ponies!
Ok, maybe I drifted a little too far into dreamland, but Rohde as PG really does fix a lot of the issues I have with him.
Hoping we start Power. I know heās going to struggle but Rohde represents a low floor and Iām tired of that, especially in a year like this one where we have no expectations.
Ideally Bliss emerges and claims that spot and Power is more 6th man type.
Hoping we start Taine or Power. Thinking weāll start Rohde.
Team intro for Wednesday:
Iām going with D2, iMac, TJP, Saunders and BB to start.
BB with the first basket.
iMac with the 1st made 3.
On a plane with wine in hand and thinking about our 2024/2025 drinking game:
- Rohde backwards dribble
- Anyone on team passes up open shot within first 15 seconds of shot clock only to heave a desperation covered 3 with shot clock expiring
- Rohde airballed FT
- Mention of Ryan Dunnās NBA performances during broadcast
- someone on board mentions Rohdeās A/TO ratio during game
More to come
