Eh that seems like lazy analysis. He’s a freshman not far removed from a massive growth spurt. He’s a 3 level, very efficient scorer with a really nice stroke. I just think there’s a lot of good ball in his future. And sure MEAC comp is bad but he DOMINATED as a freshman. That doesn’t happen often. And the last two MEAC POYs to transfer to POY actually transitioned very well (and they weren’t freshman).

His issue is that he absolutely could be a really good long term piece and develop, but having followed him on Instagram for the last year he absolutely has those in his camp who think he should probably be a starter and command 7 figures right off the bat.
Also Im insane and have watched two full Howard games for him

@Hooandtrue If Jarin Stevenson were to portal, do you think he is bait? I think yes - he’s a low-usage stretch 4 that almost exclusively takes 3s (and not well) and doesn’t record much in terms of defensive stats. But one could squint and kinda fit him into the same role VCU has Jack Clark in.

Jarin stevenson has this incredible ability to play 20 minutes in a 98-93 score game and only put up 2 pts 3 rebounds consistently. Its incredible. King of Cardio
He is only 19, but really soft. Id go no but Odom probably would and probably should tbh. Our best bet at “high ceiling” talent, despite my objection

Agree with both of you. Can’t believe he got draft buzz last season, he timed having his best game of the season perfectly for the tournament. But then there hasn’t been much observable development this year, he kinda just does all the same limited things he did last year.

More SG than PG by the stats and can definitely light it up from 3. He also has the short guy profile of shooting better from the midrange than at the rim.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Richmond as former assistant at UNCG David Boyden is there and Chris Mooney has a solid history with small guards.
