Prior to Payton entering, Mizzou was the reverse UVA LOL
Any chance to pull someone like ARob back out of the portal since these commitments mean nothing?
Nope
I’ve got an extra $100 burning a hole in my pocket.
Send it my way I’ll put it to good use.
People need to distinguish between waivers and medical redshirt claims. Sorta the same, but the medical redshirts are simpler and a much higher probability of being approved. It’s mostly up to the previous school (the season in dispute), whereas the waivers like Efton are entirely up to the NCAA, more complicated and likely to take longer. Possibily decided by courts.
Do we know if Malik is pushing for a waiver or medical RS? I imagine if he could point to some sort of nagging injury that impacted his ability to play freshman year, then it could be a medical RS but I haven’t heard details on that.
I’m pretty sure medical, yeah. They’re getting pretty loose about those, as long as the previous school signs on.
Zion Stanford to Villanova. They need guards badly
Pasha to the Hokies it sounds like. Rumor is they paid $1M so a good chunk of their budget.
I liked that kid, but I think he’s a year or two away
Yeah agreed and it seems like he was down to PSU and VT because the other programs like Gonzaga and TTU involved weren’t offering a starting role
What’s a Pasha?
I follow Delaware some, and saw Pasha play live early in the year and several times on TV. He originally signed with Pitino at Iona, but then Ricky didn’t take him along to the Johnnies. Pasha is a high usage PG with good size, better as a penetrator than a shooter (but is passable as a secondary shooting option). He started kinda slow last year and got a lot better by the end of the year. I’ll be curious how well his game translates to the P4 level (John Camden was arguably UD’s best player last year and he was like the 9th or 10th guy on VT the year before), but Pasha has confidence and the aforementioned size you’d like to see. Decent get for the Hokies if that’s where he goes (and if they can keep him for multiple years), but $1M? Good for him.
He feels like a natural fit for their high volume guard scoring role and an upgrade on anyone filling that role on their roster this past year.
I’m shocked they can afford him and Lawal tbh. Someone has stepped up in Blacksburg. Lawal was rumored to have some big offers in the works.
He sounds like the second coming of Sean Pedulla… which it appears he will need to be for VT to be remotely successful.
Dillon Mitchell to the Johnnies. Good fit
Pitino’s first trick was teaching hoops that 3>2. And his second trick will be teaching hoops that 2>0 apparently
I liked Pasha a lot. Who knows if we were ever even involved or if he just threw our name on a list.
He’s going to VT so he stinks. Get in line ETP!
