Iā€™ve been curious about how guys like Jennings, Hill, Bamgboye are dispositioned towards Odom. Positive because theyā€™ve committed to him before and played for him, negative because they didnā€™t come with him/he didnā€™t bring them with him to UVa, neutral because things kinda net out and weā€™re all professionals here? Iā€™m not sure if we necessarily have recruiting advantages with them, but also donā€™t presume we have disadvantages either.

Iā€™m also trying to think of examples where players followed coaches on a 1-year lag and am drawing blanks.

Iā€™m going to spend all offseason just posting portal pipe dreams. The next one is keeping Chance, Sam, TDR and GrĆ¼nloh, and slotting John Blackwell in the leading scorer slot.

Adlan Elamin for Utah St is kinda a role guy on offense right now, but I think he could be a Jack Clark-like wing-4 for Odom. Also heā€™s from Arlington (Paul VI, Team Takeover) and Odomā€™s VCU was in his final 3.

I would do heinous crimes for Terrence Hill Jr, Mason Falslev, and Derek Dixon to round out our guard rotation.

What excites me about Odom most of all is how great all of our portal guys have looked in their roles. No true busts in this class. Even the guy he ALMOST got is great for Vandy. He has an unbelievable eye for talent.

Also why I think Barksdale is gonna be a great player for us

Thatā€™s exactly what scares me for Odom though. He hit pretty well this year, but if youā€™re pulling from mid/low majors itā€™s really tough to do that consistently. A win tomorrow would go a long way in helping our next round of portal recruitingā€¦

For me, the idea/hope/dream of Sharma returning to Charlottesville is over. He probably belongs at the mid-major level.

Yeah just being honest I donā€™t think any of the guys should boomerang back to us. Iā€™ll gladly cheer for them from afar but I think mostly correct decisions were madeā€¦

Ignoring likelihood, the only boomerangs Iā€™d be interested in re: talent and fit are Bond and Cofie.

Probably just best to look outside of that umbrella though.

Terrence Hill Jr really really feels like a likely portal pickup. More obvious than any guy last year besides Bamgboye and Jennings, though I think Odom will be willing to drop a bag on Hill in a way he wasnā€™t with those dudes. Odom needs to hit his line today if they lose

I donā€™t think itā€™s obvious because he will be EXTREMELY popular. Probably will be hard to pull away from VCU and if he does leave, every school will be interested.
