Yeah that might be the rub. I suspect Odom knew he could (on paper) buy better dudes than what he had at VCU. No way to know Hill was going to go off this year I suppose.

Hill was a benchwarmer at that point, Odom probably thought he needed a year to prove himself at the mid-major level. Now that he has I would think we will make a run

My hope this off season is that Odom gets a lot of sophomores. We need continuity to be elite elite.

In that way, I wish he would’ve brought Hill over.

Would support this.

Broadly, if TDR is gone, I think it’s possible we fill the “shot creator” role at the 2 and then the 4 could be more of a rich man’s Jack Clark. If TDR is back, we eating good and can go in a lot of directions at the 2.

I dunno. The playmaking talent is there, but also he’s a 6’9” guy who takes less of his shots at the rim than their guards did, and his meh 3P shooting limits his off-ball value. But plenty of staffs would be happy to try to fix him.
