I’m heading to see my first game at JPJ on November 11. I graduated in 96 and I live in Iowa. It’s only my second live UVA game since graduation ( the other was the Natty win).

Nothing too life changing.

In November, wife & I owe a visit to some friends from my Air Force days. One guy and his family are in San Antonio. The other guy and his family are in San Diego. We’re knocking out both trips at one time, spending like 4 days in each spot.

Curaçao for 5 days in late October sans kids. First parent only trip since the littlest was born 2.5 years ago. Should be fun.

Welcome any recs from those who have been before.

Also, Mozambique and Sierra Leone for work. Not as fun.

No plans here but I neglected to thank everyone for their advice and recommendations for Glasgow and Dublin over the summer. It was a whirlwind trip with the day trip to Edinburgh definitely the highlight. Thank you all! (Also, the Guinness does taste better there)

I travel a lot for work… but don’t really get to “see” the places… so I’m not really going anywhere. I just sit on long ass flights, sit in conference rooms and get good local food.

Family and I are going to go to Snowshoe to ski around Christmas though.

I spent about 12 years traveling 48 weeks out of the year. People would often say “it must be so cool to go to so many different places”. Truth is that office buildings, hotels and airports are remarkably similar from place to place. I would love during my retirement years to be able to really visit some of the places I have been on business travel.

On the ground here in Ga until early November, which is welcome. Agree with @HoosGotYourBack after awhile it all looks the same.

Next official trip is Nov. 22-24 I will be in Charlottesville for the SMU game and hosting an unofficial LRA tailgate that I expect every one of you to attend. Cause ain’t no party like a Dragon party cause a Dragon party is MANDETORY

Right now we’re thinking of going to Atlanta in like mid-December. Feels like a good first shortish flight for a 9-month-old. Planning to spend like two days in the aquarium with the baby (assuming she enjoys it) and some time visiting some historic sites and eating. Nothing crazy but hopefully a pretty chill baby-friendly trip.

@BDragon you have any Atlanta food recs that can be done with an baby? No pressure, ha.

New England to visit the in-laws for Thanksgiving then out west to see my family for Christmas.

Next summer will be the fun one. Younger daughter will be (I’d like to hope) done with HS and we’ll probably go somewhere interesting to celebrate. Maybe Italy, she complains about being the only member of the family who’s never been, but potentially somewhere in Asia (where none of us have ever been).

Obviously Asia is huge and you could go anywhere, plus it’s a full year from now, but if you happen to end up going to Japan, I have some good recs. Had a great trip there a while back.

Lots of good places to go even with a little one.

It might take 2 days to do the aquarium with a baby we can’t do more than 1.5-2 hr with our toddlers.

Ponce City Market has tons of restaurants and food stalls all very family friendly and in a cool location on the Beltline so you can get outside and walk if the weather is good. Hit me up closer to the trip and I’ll send you some more recs.

Much appreciated! And yeah, we’re thinking of trying to stay somewhere right downtown next to the aquarium so we can just walk over and maybe do it a couple days in a row (and easily bow out if she’s over it). I’m sure there are cooler areas to stay but that just seems convenient.

Just stay on Peach Street

That makes sense there’s a lot in that area. Especially for a family.

Buffalo to visit the gfs family over one of the upcoming holidays. Not sure if Thanksgiving or Christmas (or both?) yet, but more likely Thanksgiving to lessen the likelihood of snow (we drive up)

As of now still planning to go to Western North Carolina next month… looking forward to talking to the locals and hear stories about neighborly love and care.

Just cancelled Thanksgiving in Sugar Mountain - too much damage, with too much uncertainty about how the area recovers. Having daughters and husbands fly home to JAX instead.

Spent two weeks in Spain a month ago. Next big trip is either a Silverseas cruise from Southampton to Lisbon next September or instead possibly to London then on for a tour of Wales, Southwest England and then to the French coast to check out Honfleur, D-Day beaches, Mont St. Michel.
