Tipton always had his niche as the commitment/final list edit guy. But I didn’t even follow him until recently. The players would post it, so why bother? The whole explosion and really migration of recruiting coverage to IG has been a boon for him. Now you just follow the one source and get all the commitment news basically.
The dead period has helped too. There’s a bunch of new somewhat similar accounts popping up on IG and twitter. Edits and reports of who’s reaching out, who’s recruiting who the hardest. It’s the kind of stuff that I’d roll my eyes at a year ago, but now it’s valuable information without coaches on the road to tell us what’s really going on. Those new folks will need to adjust when things get back to normal though or be left in the dust.

FWIW, Keels did cut down his IG to only 8 posts. He’s cut it down before, but now it’s just his Top 3 post and friends / highlights. No more recruiting visit posts

So Keels has done all that he has done through the recruiting process and he’s gonna announce without setting a predetermined announcement date and making a big deal of it? Color me surprised.

I would guess that we have based on a number of things. I think we started to smell something quite a while ago with all the sudden activity with guards. Go back to when we were trying to get involved with Ingram, heated up with Warley, Murray, & Coleman. Don’t be surprised if we don’t know where Houstan is headed.
