Trevor Keels Announces Final 3

Thanks. Just saw something interesting. Evans put in a futurecast for Lynn Greer to Nova. Maybe he finally found something out.

Talk about crazy and crowded at Nova…greer is a PG…I would think that they would wait on Keels and go for a big and be done…not another guard…

I read it wrong. Moved it from likely to inlikely.

It says ā€œunlikelyā€under the V. I don’t know that means. Not sure it has anything to do with Keels. I just don’t believe anyone knows anything except Keels and his family.

I fully expect to be on the top 3 but if we are not I am going to be staying as far away from this board and The Sabre as possible

It’ll be ratioed at 65% Salt/regretful hot takes and 35% he wasn’t coming here anyways/we are fine regardless/stacked roster/etc.

I will be fluctuating between the two but it will ultimately be salvation either way. If it’s not us I would rather be eliminated tomorrow than drag this on further but it seems like we are in it for the long haul.

Def not going to the sabre. First reply will be ā€œwhy did anyone think a recruit who posts a top 3 would pick uvaā€

7 schools?! Obviously Keels doesn’t read Corey Evans.

247s Brian Snow in his national notebook today. On Keels says Duke and Nova locks for final 3, us and Mich for last spot. Of course feels Duke and Nova in best spot with Duke slightly ahead. Feels we ā€˜have work to do’ to be the ultimate choice.

On Kaufman still feels IU best combo of home/relationships but we’ve been ā€˜coming on strong’

Sure feels like we’re the only ones that think we have a shot at Keels lol

It’s lonely at the top.

Keels is a nice talent. I think you have to plan as if you won’t get him but be thankful if you do.

Agree. We’ve got 10 guys on the 2021-22 roster right now, that I’m comfortable can/will compete for the ACC & NCAA titles.

We don’t need Keels, but he could be the difference between being one of 8-10 teams with a chance at the championship, and being the odds-on favorites.

I agree. I don’t know how it all works behind the scenes, but most places don’t give us much of a chance. The thing that gives me hope is that maybe Keels is going to great lengths to keep his eventual announcement a surprise. There’s definitely some bad info being passed around somewhere because the stuff from the national gurus is very different from the info from UVa sources.

Probably becomes a bit of an echo chamber in the world of the recruiting professionals, ie once Corey moves then Snow, Jake W, etc move with him. An educated guess gets spun into fact without much from the source. People on this board would know a lot better than me how it works though.

I think most of these guys do a pretty good job and usually have sources. However, some do try to read too much into a recruitment without stating that. However, many prospects make that very difficult with a lack of analytical information and there are those who will even intentionally manipulate the process. In that case there are usually handlers / advisors involved who aren’t worried about the prospects character. In many of these instances, the water gets muddy.

You can also only get info from those who offer it. UVA is not normally an open book wrt recruiting. The national guys will publicize info they do have and if they haven’t heard from UVA, they’re not going to take stabs in the dark.

Which makes it hard to understand how the continual comments about their positive vibes regarding Keels keeps leaking.

To be fair I think there is a difference between sharing stuff with local/UVA people and national writers
