What are the odds for Germany to make the semi final but not win the tournament? That appears to be what happens for host countries. Somewhere between 2nd and 4th place
France is so loaded it’s hard for me to pick anyone else. Will be rooting for Georgia to make the knockout rounds though. Love the country and Khvicha is so much fun to watch.
On one of my deployments to Iraq… we had Georgian security guards on our compound… I also had a Ukrainian coworker… he hated the Georgians and told me they were the laziest military in the world. I was talking to the Georgian guards one day when our vehicle was being bomb sniffed by their dogs and, at least these dudes, pretty much agreed with him. LOL!
LOL I can’t speak on their soldiering abilities other than they have a shared history with the Chechens so I would imagine they’re pretty good at fighting when they’re motivated. There are a few Georgians on the soccer team I play with and they’re a fun bunch. A bit like Luka in basketball: incredible technical skill, lots of complaining, not that interested in defense.
The Netherlands away kits are usually blue although in some years they’ve been white. One of the cool things about soccer is that there’s no concept of the home or away shirts having to be a certain color across all teams (e.g., home whites). I wish American teams did the same thing. I mean white isn’t UVA’s school color so why are our teams wearing white jerseys at home games?
I’m actually surprised we haven’t started to do three next jerseys a year like they do with Kits. NFL starting to do it more - but the really pump the fans for £€ over there.
Basically every football club gets the Oregon/Maryland treatment every year. New home, away, and 3rd uniforms every summer. Home unis usually have the same color pattern every year, otherwise all bets are off. For context, this was Arsenal’s away kit this year. Couldn’t bring my self to buy it, but I’ll admit it grew on me
