I certainly don’t disagree with what you’re saying. Just don’t think this is the way to go about it.

Tony is like the old man in the hood yelling at all the kids to be quiet. It’s not him, it’s them!!! if he just yells louder they will get it!! Hiring Sanchez was just Tony interfering his own cognitive dissonance and yelling louder, unfortunately.

I think if we are going to make broad assumptions; mine is that Tony won the national title and his takeaway was “I did it my way so my way works”.

The takeaway should have actually been “We incorporated a modern ball screen offense, I played Diakite over Salt, and we had 6-7 guys that ultimately ended up on NBA rosters, including 3 guys who could hunt their own shot”.

Yeah Gertrude played the last minute. Played good D on Proctor. I expect he will get a lot of run in the second half. Let em play and see what happens. If nothing else the experience of playing in Cameron is beneficial.

Honestly I’m out after today anyways. It’s very clear this isn’t going anywhere. Dante is gonna get a lot of run. So is Rodhe. Dunn may come back. More top 100 players are gonna transfer. The program is cooked until Bennett leaves

That’s fair. I know you’d much rather see us be a better program.

No idea. It’s really crazy. It’s like watching a worse version of our 2013-2014 team lose to Tennessee 6+ times in a season.

The resilience of this team is paper thin. It’s tough to stomach after watching past teams withstand and bounce back.

I’d much rather be so so so wrong about this. I love uva basketball. But it’s clearly gone so wrong

My biggest hope is this string of getting ‘Tony’d so often makes it so glaringly obvious there is a flaw that he knows he has to change the offensive approach. Just go spend a couple weeks with Bo Ryan this offseason! Don’t have to change everything up. That offense would work with the packline and Tony’s tempo

Fair enough. Although I don’t like how you went about it, probably wasn’t my place to criticize. We all want to be good. So my apologizes for how it came across. I respect your opinions, even though I don’t always agree.

Ill throw out another hot take that should also be ridiculed and I do apologize.

The 2022 class was too much in line with Tony. Very passive, not very aggressive or outspoken. McKneely and Dunn show that passiveness. Traudt ran home. Bond has an existential crisis every time he’s on the floor.

Unfortunately I had this thought as well. I know Tony wants to go out on a high note. Scheyer, the 30 year old who steals all Tony’s top targets, running up the score on him would cause a level of self-reflection not yet experienced in human kind.

Unfortunately we are giving up 40+ in a half and our defense was poop, so I suspect his takeaway will be different.

Dunn 3! A Christmas miracle!
